I could see David Young being turned on by Gilbertti, and finding a partner to try and unseat Diamond/Swinger down the line as well. Probably another Wildside guy that makes the occasional appearance (Jimmy Rave?).

No it was the fact that they stopped making money, period.

 

They had huge contracts to fulfill from 97-99 and they made enough money to keep those and be profitable.

 

They were done in by one fundamental problem. They stopped making money. The tv and ppv budgets started costing more than what the company was bringing in as money flow, so they ended up in the hole.

 

Watch, if TNA or WWE go under, it won't be because of contracts. I will be because the company stopped making money.

There are several posters that enter this folder to criticize the WWE and they are more than welcome, hell they are ENCOURAGED, to do so as it breeds discussion...which is the intended purpose of the folder.

I'm sorry but I fucking DESPISE Trent Acid.

 

I think most of his singles matches have been mediocre, but I suppose he HAS had good brutal spotfests with Homicide but that means nothing with a guy like AJ Styles. All we will get is a lot of stalling and then some big moves in the final stretch.

 

As for the promotion being dead, things are looking to get good I reckon. I'm gonna get the tape of the TNA show next Friday so I am gonna see how good the match with Jarrett and Styles was but I could put my life savings ( and that's a lot ) on Jarrett NOT burying Styles.

Which is part of my increasing displeasurement with TNA.

 

I like to see good wrestlers work. I like to see good matches happen. I like to see the best, most over workers get pushed.

 

These three things have not happened to the extent that it should be in TNA in recent weeks.

Well, I apologise Zack, but Mad Dog here is determined to crush free opinion about TNA, and, you know, I'm A Journalist, into free speech and all that

How can you honestly call yourself a "journalist" when you constantly trash things you know nothing about. From your hate of MLW, Wildside, etc. to your hatred for TNA. You decide to constantly bash a product you have never even watched, or seen very little of.

 

Movie critics don't talk about how awful the latest movie is based solely on the trailer. You don't see music critics bash albums months before they're released. Journalistic integrity is something you lack in every sense.

 

If you had actually watched last night's show, you would have been impressed by how much improvement there was. The show was alot more focused, and was paced much better then usual. There wasn't a bad match on the card, with even the 3LK match being enjoyable for what it was. The constant run-ins and horrible finishes were gone for the most part, and the matches all told a story. Then again, you can't know these things when you haven't seen the show, can you?

 

You can make assumptions like Sonjay Dutt being a spot monkey, or Raven being buried, because you have no way of seeing how wrong your assumptions are. If you watched TNA, you'd see how much time is given to Raven, and everything he does. You'd realize that there's never a moment where he looks weak in the ring. I'm as big of a Raven mark as you get, and you know why I'm not bitching like you? Because I watch the shows and see what they're doing with him. I have seen dozens of Sonjay Dutt matches and know he's more then a spot monkey.

 

I'm not some blind mark who finds no faults with TNA. I see a lot that needs to be improved, but I also see potential in the show. The difference between us is, I actually watch the shows to find the pros and cons, not just blindly spew bullshit as soon as I read the results on some webpage.

On the other hand, Devin, I watched the show. I've watched every TNA show from Week 4 and on. And I HATED last night's show. The matches, to me, were rather dull, the wrong ending occurred and/or the wrong people went over, and the only angles of any interest now are Raven/New Church and the New "Franchise." Everything else is "why should I order next week?"
