NWA:TNA, having postponed the November 30 "Bound for Glory" pay-per-view after Hulk Hogan decided to get knee surgery, will likely reschedule the event for January 2004. Officials are hoping this will give them more time to market the show, as well as book a venue, possibly in Las Vegas or Tampa (where Hogan lives and has various connections).

The problem with going past December is that you run into the one true "Hot Zone" of WWE ppvs with the Rumble in January and Mania in March.

They'll be much harder pressed to take buys away from the Rumle than they would No Way Out in February, IMO.

I forgot about the SuperBowl. January is just a bad month. February seems much smarter to me.

Instead of trying to convince buy you instead of the Rumble (which always does good numbers) you'd be trying to convince people to buy you as opposed to what is notoriously just a lead up show to Mania.

I think Febuary would be a better month but at least they've slowed down.

Now they can get Sting and maybe even get New Japan to send over more than just Tiger Mask IV, maybe even work things out with CMLL and get Shocker to come in.

At least Mantel has an extra month to really build this up.

Put it off until April.

Hogan's not going to be back that soon, and this will give TNA time to develop a solid plan for promoting their big show.

Plus, it's entering the Weeeeeeeeeeeee's dead period, where TNA will be able to attract more attention vs. trying to fight the big shows.

Good Point. April-August (or in WWE's case, all year long) is generally the "clean-up period" of the year for them. (i.e extra sucky feuds/shows/PPV's etc.)
