Its still very early but the Celts are destroying the Pistons. Their offense looks really good tonight...mainly because there's less Walter McCarty.

Does anyone else see a time during the season where every midwest team will have a better record than the top Atlantic team? The contrast between those two divisions, especially considering LA and Sac aren't in the Midwest, just show's the difference between the East and the West.

SportsLine.com wire reports

SALT LAKE CITY -- Karl Malone was offended by a mock phone call that made fun of him and teammate Kobe Bryant during a timeout of the Los Angeles Lakers' game at Utah last week.

"For them to put that out there about him, that's disrespectful," Malone said. "I will never, ever forgive them for this. No class at all."

Malone, who played 18 seasons with the Jazz, did not attend the game last Saturday because of a knee injury. It was supposed to be his first game as an opponent in Utah.

During a stoppage, Jazz mascot "Bear" answered a fake call that was broadcast over the loudspeakers. The caller imitated Malone's voice and identified himself as "Mail," saying he wanted to come "home," L.A. fans were "mean" to him and the Lakers don't pass him the ball.

The call ended with the imitator saying, "I guess it could be worse. I could be Ko...," stopping short of saying Kobe.

Bryant had spent the previous day in Colorado, where he's facing a trial on a sexual assault charge.

"That kind of stuff there is like pathetic. If an athlete would have did that, we'd have been talking about it for the rest of the year on SportsCenter," Malone said before the Lakers' home game against Seattle on Wednesday.

Later in the game, Jazz owner Larry Miller was handed a cell phone for a second call from the fake Malone and was cheered when he promptly hung up.

Miller did not immediately return a message seeking comment Thursday.

Malone said he had no problem with the Jazz poking fun at him, but the Bryant reference was in poor taste.

"I guarantee you, I'll have the last say on this. You can print that. That little skit they did, it'll cost them. I guarantee you," Malone said.

That's already happened; every team in the Midwest division had a better record than the Atlantic division leader for the first eight or nine weeks.

So the people with the rampant creativity needed to form a religion in which Indians are displaced Jews, secret handshakes are prerequisites to heaven, and we can achieve God status through following all these rules, can't come up with a better name for a bear than "Bear"?

All-Star official starters:

East: Vince Carter, Jermaine O'Neal, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Ben Wallace

West: Kevin Garnett, Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, Steve Francis, Yao Ming

Question is, does Shaq even MAKE the team now with the season Brad Miller's having?

Of course he does, the game is in LA(which I may be going to as I live there) and "The Glove" will probably be there as well.

The only player from the Queens that will be in the game will be Peja and I see Sam Cassell making it over Bibby.

When was the last time that there were 2 Houston Rockets in the starting line-up of the All-Star Game?

Even though it is the 1st quarter of the game the Spurs look good by playing a fast pace game.

Manu Ginobili dunked on Doug Christie!

Bruce Bowen OWNS Peja!

Are Shaq and Kobe even healthy enough to play?

They are healthy enough to play, but why would they?

Brad Miller and Sam Cassell should get the Lakers spots on the team.

Cassell will be the backup point guard for the West, Miller may or may not be there because Shaq wouldn't want a Queen to take his spot and the fact that he loves to play at home. Elton Brand could take that spot as well, believe me I watch every Laker and Clipper game and he is well deserving.

Well, I see why because Brand is just a guy that would ride pine on a team like Dallas or even Portland, but come on the CLIPPERS even need an all-star sometimes.

By the way, why do people talk about the Clippers pissing away their team every few off-seasons? I haven't seen one fucking player from that team that actually amounted to something outside of Kiki Vandeweghe. Me thinks that their owner is actually a smart guy.

The Clippers is the succabus of the Association, the team of the chronically injuried and depressed. Lamar Odom is the leader of rebounds and blocks for the Heat.

Well, he will wind up failing some more drug tests and be banned for a season so Sterling was right in letting Odom go.

Fun game in San Antonio tonight but it's becoming a bit obvious how downgraded the Spurs are. They had a fairly easy time with the Kings last year but this year, a weakened Kings team never really lost control of the game once they got it. Bobby Jackson making every defender who stepped up in the fourth his bitch didn't hurt either.

Lamar Odom is scary good when his head isn't firmly rammed up his friggin ass. Really talented guy who can do a lot of things and seems to have finally gotten it together. He shoulda signed with the Trailblazers for the fuck of it anyways.

Odom wouldn't have lasted a week in Portland. With the likes of Odom, Rasheed Wallace, Damon Stoudamire and Bonzi Wells on the same team, there would have been a permanent cloud of marajuana smoke hovering over the Rose Garden at all times.

The problem with the Spurs is that Malik Rose is on the bad side of the coaching staff, Manu is not shooting or getting enough minutes, Parker is not getting assist, too many players are still afraid to take an open shot and would rather pass to a triple teamed Duncan.

.....................

You CANNOT be serious. //McEnroe

Brand is playing better than any PF in the league this year (unless you count Garnett as one), INCLUDING Duncan, and is better than anyone on Dallas or Portland. I guarantee you the Mavs would KILL to have Elton Brand on their team, and if the Clippers offered, the Blazers would trade Rasheed Wallace in half a heartbeat for him. I don't mean to get hostile with you, but I just had to get my .02 in on this.
