Guest Corino 1000 Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Don't get me wrong I love Mysterio, but has anyone else noticed he is doing the exact same spots in every match. Its getting quite boring wouldn't you say?
Jack_Bauer Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 He certainly isn't the same Rey that was king of the cruisers in WCW IMO.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I'm getting tired of the same spots every match from just about everyone in WWE. It's the damn "WWE Style"
the pinjockey Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Same thing happened to him as everyone else. WWE style + 4 minute matches
Guest Corino 1000 Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I hate the WWEs narrow mindedness toward there wrestlers. I am dreaming for anothere WCW crusier division. It'll never happen though
KTID Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Rated: 3 Vs Rated: 10 --- You must have them the wrong way around.
Guest Corino 1000 Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 No,I dont its called personal opinion. I dont want too get into a flame so please, stay on topic.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 If your a fan OF EITHER Bret or Flair (judging by ur sig)...Both men (no matter HOW great) did the exact same shit in all of their matches. You could call Bret's matches move for move minutes in advance. But he still ruled.
Guest Corino 1000 Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I like Hart and Flair. It was just a parody though. I really didnt like that comment though. RVDMark, its cool dude
Lil' Bitch Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I think he's playing off Hart's old interview bashing Flair.
Kahran Ramsus Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 .Both men (no matter HOW great) did the exact same shit in all of their matches. Yes, because Bret/Austin at XIII is move for move the same as Bret/Owen at X.
Guest Coffey Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 You know what bothers me more than the WWE style? People whom are afraid to speak their mind or get ridiculed. "Here's my opinionated thread" "Here's my "don't get me wrong" first sentence."
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 You know what bothers me more than the WWE style? People whom are afraid to speak their mind or get ridiculed. "Here's my opinionated thread" "Here's my "don't get me wrong" first sentence." Yeah but the "don't get me wrong" was followed by "I like Mysterio" so it wasn't an attempt to soften the blow. It was more of a "don't think I hate Mysterio" statement.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I hate the WWEs narrow mindedness toward there wrestlers. I am dreaming for anothere WCW crusier division. It'll never happen though It's called the X-Division.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I hate the WWEs narrow mindedness toward there wrestlers. I am dreaming for anothere WCW crusier division. It'll never happen though It's called the X-Division. Except it's nowhere near as good now. Oh and Flair in his day was better then Bret ever was so I'd say YOU'RE the one who has it wrong RVDMARK4:20.
Guest Coffey Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I'd agree with that statement, however I'm more of a fan of legwork than I am of lower back work. So, obviously, Flair "working down" an opponent is more enjoyable to me than Bret's approach.
LaParkaYourCar Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 It's the same thing. Only if he's lying about liking Mysterio to avoid backlash. If he's not then he's just providing extra info to his statement.
Guest Coffey Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 If he's not lying, then he's a fucking hypocrite. Is anyone else getting Tired of Mysterio Wouldn't "anyone else" suggest that he's getting tired of Mysterio? Now, if you were "getting tired" or something, would you still "love it" despite it being "boring?" He's trying to save face. So, either way he's trying to avoid that backlash. That's why I made my statement. It's like people are afraid to type what they really feel anymore. That's why all the posts look the fucking same!
Guest robvandam420 Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I'm not sick of rey yet, and probably wont be for a long time. However im getting pretty sick of the "wwe style" applying to the cruiserweights. the matches they used to work in wcw would grasp viewers that were flipping thru channels. john doe doesn't care about two small guys brawling or doing powermoves with the occasional burst of speed. it's retarded
CanadianChick Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I hate the WWEs narrow mindedness toward there wrestlers. I am dreaming for anothere WCW crusier division. It'll never happen though It's called the X-Division. I hope you're kidding. The X-division is NO WHERE close to the WCW cruiserwieght division in it's heyday. I like a good spotfest as much as the next person (hell, I'm a RVD fan), but the X division is so damn contrived. It's annoying to watch. I nearly tore my hair out when I saw a Low-Ki/Red match.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Well, it kinda sucks right now, yes. I was thinking more like the first 2-3 months, when AJ and Lynn and Low-Ki were a part of it. Either way, it actually was a semi-joke.
CanadianChick Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Well, it kinda sucks right now, yes. If you were, I would question your sanity.
Guest Coffey Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Well, which WCW Cruiserweight Division era are we talking about? If we're talking about Dean Malenko, Chris Jericho, Ultimo Dragon & Eddie Guerrero days, not much is going to come close to it. If we're talking Billy Kidman, Juventud Guerrera, Shane Helms, Jimmy Yang & Blitzkrieg era, then it's debatable.
Guest Ray Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I'm getting tired of the same spots every match from just about everyone in WWE. It's the damn "WWE Style" I second that. And...instead of arguing over Bret/Flair, just remember that neither man is worthy enough to lick Toshiaki Kawada's big yellow boots.
Guest Coffey Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 That may be so, but as an American that is only fluent in the english language, I can't very well follow the japanese storylines. I can follow the match and the storytelling that takes place in said match. However, american wrestling isn't about just the match. It's about the storyline and drama leading up to the match.
TheBostonStrangler Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 I'm a big Rey fan, but there's a combo of things that's really impacted his work. He's had serious knee surgery repeatedly, he's added 15-20 pounds since WCW, he had an 18 month layoff from pro wrestling between the end of WCW and his WWE debut, and the powers that be within WWE have forced him into short matches with a few moves he always has to fit in. It's really cramped his style. I wonder if he could still go all out, if given the chance. This is why I'd kill to see Mysterio in TNA. Mysterio vs. Styles, Lynn, Sabin, Shane, Daniels, etc....it'd be sweet as hell.
Downhome Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 This is off topic, but I saw some in here talking about Flair/Hart. Here are my VERY quick thoughts on that deal... ...when looking at the two men purely in terms of their in-ring ability, their actual Pro. Wrestling talent, I rank both of them up there right next to one another. They wrestled the same type of match for the better part of their respective careers, and they did so very damn good. They way that they wrestled a match, they are a lot a like. So yeah, as I said, I put them right up there at the top of the list of all time, right near one another. However, when you step back and look at both guys as a whole, and not simply their in-ring work and everything, I'd have to say that Ric Flair is head and shoulders above Bret Hart, which is why most rank him so much higher than Hart. Without a doubt in my mind, Ric Flair is the greatest total package ever to be in the Pro. Wrestling industry. Notice that I said GREATEST TOTAL PACKAGE, not greatest wrestler. The thing about Flair, is not only was he a great wrestler, but he was just great at every aspect of the industry. From psychology in the ring to workrate to overall in-ring skill to promos to interviews to character and to everything else, he was just that damn good at it. The man is truly the greatest all around Pro. Wrestler of all time. Bret Hart, while he was good at most everything, he obviously lacks in areas where Flair excelled at. So yeah, that's how I look at both of the guys.
Hogan Made Wrestling Posted October 26, 2003 Report Posted October 26, 2003 Rey's work now is better than his shitty devil-horns-filthy/animals era stuff.
