Ring Of Honor DVDs

I've heard good things about the promotion, but I haven't seen any matches yet. Which DVD would you recommend I get and are they of good quality sound and picture wise? Thanks.

I would get All Star Extravaganza- it's the best ROH show I've seen.

Scramble Madness has a supposedly MOTYC between Low Ki and Xavier as an extra.

Other DVDs to check out:

Epic Encounter, First Anniversary Show and RRC2

Reeeeeaaally?

Nice to know, since RF was nice enough to wholesale all the 2002 events to us this past week, and Scramble Madness was one of the first titles to arrive. Thank you Bob, I know have something to watch later tonight.

Epic Encounter and ASE easily. Best shows IMO. Dragon-Styles. Dragon and London. The undercards were awesome for both shows as well

Xavier vs Low Ki ladder match. Was it in ECWA or JAPW. As I know they have had one in both feds... I think.

Crowing a Champion has Eddie Guerrero vs. Low Ki as an extra- awesome match IMO. Otherwise its a one match show.

Thanks guys. I ended up getting ASE cause it seems the majority really recommended this one. Now as for quality of picture and sound, what can I expect? I'm not expecting WWE like picture or perfect sound or anything, but it's not shitty or anything is it?

The ironman is on Crowning a Champion.

I gave it ****3/4. The show is pretty much a one-match show although there is an awesome brawl with Natural Born Sinners and Carnage Crew.

A scramble is a match consisting of 4 tag teams (usually) in one match. Instead of tags- you can enter when someone is on the outside of the ring.

They're basically spotfests done to get the crowd pumped up

The 4-way ironman was my #3 MoTY in Ring Of Honor next to London-AmDrag from Night of The Butcher in 2002 and Styles-Danielson from ASE. If you get it, get the DVD, as it has a swank Guerrero-Low Ki match on it.

I thought the ironman was ****1/4, besting anything WWE did in 2002 for me. The Guerrero-Ki match was like ***1/2 or so.

I ordered Road to the Title, Crowning a Champion and Honor Invades Boston all on DVD around the time they came out. Well, there was a problem with the first run of the CAC DVD with the sound not synching properly, so rather than do any sort of customer relations, RF just sent me the damn VHS of CAC, thus screwing me out of Eddy-Low Ki, the fuckers.

Hence why I use tape traders. I love ROH, but I avoid RF Video as much as I can.

The best show is Road to the Title, but the DVD is absolutely nothing. So if you're only interested in DVDs, go with those above, but if you're ordering just to check out ROH, you should have gotten Road to the Title. Not that you'll be disappointed at all with ASE. Hell, you could pick ANY ROH show and find at least one or two fantastic matches on it. Most are pretty damn solid from top to bottom. It's a wonderful standard ROH has and manages to uphold.
