Guest FrigidSoul Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 radio just said Yankees 3rd Base Coach Lee Mazelli is the new Orioles manager
kkktookmybabyaway Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 He seems like a good guy -- glad he got this chance...
Guest Anglesault Posted November 7, 2003 Report Posted November 7, 2003 Damnit Damnit Damnit Damnit Damnit.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 Hmm. Good news that we hired a manager and got that out of the way early.
Vern Gagne Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 He was the 1st base coach. They really don't do alot. The 3rd base coach, is the one gives the signals from the dugout, and has to decide whether or not to send the runners home.
Dr. Tom Posted November 8, 2003 Report Posted November 8, 2003 Definitely a good hire by the Orioles. Mazzilli is a solid baseball man, and he was the only candidate who had any fire in his voice when speaking to the press after being interviewed.

When they gave Willie Randolph the Bench Coach position Mazzilli was promoted to 3rd base coach. Even though he never had a game there under his belt it was his last position with the Yankees
Vern Gagne Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Understood. I was just talking about what he did do for the Yankees. Any word who the Yankees 3rd base coach will be next year?
Guest FrigidSoul Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Not yet, but as it is they need both 1st and 3rd base coaches
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted November 9, 2003 Report Posted November 9, 2003 Just a third base coach. They named Luis Sojo as their first base coach last week.
