Johnson says Bengals will beat Chiefs

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Wideout guarantees win over KC

By Mark Curnutte and Neil Schmidt

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Chad Johnson is back in the guarantee business.

Though the Bengals were 0-7 a year ago when they played in Houston, it wasn't such a stretch for Johnson to guarantee a victory over an expansion team with a 2-5 record.

Johnson's guarantee of a victory Sunday over Kansas City, though, is something different. The Chiefs are 9-0, the NFL's only undefeated team.

"This is how I feel about what we got going on right now, and how we've turned this organization around," Johnson said after Sunday's 34-27 win against the Texans at Paul Brown Stadium.

"Some people may not like the guarantee, but I know my teammates are not going to leave me hanging - they're going to give 100 percent, and they know I'm going to give 100 percent."

Johnson said he was glad the Chiefs, 41-20 winners over the Browns, didn't lose Sunday.

"It should be the game of the week, matter of fact," he said. "You know, undefeated (team) going against the new era of the Bengals, playing good football right now. . . . They're only undefeated until they come in here next Sunday."

Johnson had guaranteed he would score a touchdown Sunday, but had an apparent score taken away when he was ruled down at the Houston 1-yard line after replay.

Uh huh.. your team, the team that still has problems decisively beating the Texans, will beat Kansas City at home.

Rrrrrrrright..

Good, I love Chad Johnson, sure the gurantees may sometimes bite him in the ass, but the Bengals need someone who has this confidence and I've said that even after his gurantee when they lost to the Browns. And not many in the league work as hard as him.

CJ's other predictions this year.

In pre-season he said his goal was, and he was going to get 1,800 receiving yards.

That no one in Seattle's secondary could cover him.

Scoring a TD in the Texans game.

They'll beat the Chiefs, or come VERY VERY close to doing it, because of what Human Fly said: No one will take this seriously except the Bengals themselves, and it's going to bite Kansas City on the ass. A motivated team, in their minds, has no win/loss record and is going out there to prove everyone wrong.

and Dick Vermeil will get distracted by the 69,000 people chanting RUDY RUDY RUDY and get confused.

"Rudy? Who's Rudy? *cries* Who is rudy? Where is rudy? God Almightly would someone find poor rudy? I got no idea no idea where rudy is...*bawls* RUDY!"

Meanwhile Rudi Johnson runs 25 yards for the game winning td

"Rudy? HELP!"

Holmes: Uh Coach

Vermeil: *Cries* I can't find Rudy!

I actually think the Bengals have a shot of winning. However guarantees never work, I remember when Jamal Anderson said the Falcons will beat the Broncos by two touchdowns and they got beat by the Broncos by two touchdowns. Only Joe Namath can guarantee victories dammit. I bet the score will be something like Chiefs-21, Bengals-17.

The Bengals are playing good football of late, and the CHiefs had better not look past them. If they do, they'll be in for a rude awakening and their first loss. I don't think Vermeil will let his charges look past the Bengals, though. Cincy will put up a fight, but the Chiefs just have too many weapons.

The Bengals have shown up for EVERY SINGLE game this year. Playing to the very end, While the score wasn't close in Game One, they rattled Plummer's Cage and since then every game either went to them or went to the end.

K.C would be making a GRAVE mistake underestimating The Bengals. Upon the Holt, Moss hype people have under looked an incredible season from Chad Johnson.

Vermeil said something like the last 10 teams who where 6-0 or better lost their first game to a team with a subpar record.

This could of been an upset, but it sounds this might be somewhat of a trendy upset pick.

That's Right Baby.

Johnson and The Bengals cashed in on the guarantee.

Bengals Defense shut down the Chiefs and all day and showed why they are most under rated team in NFL today

Yeah.. you shut down KC in the first half.

And then your superteam burned Eric Warfield, the worst cornerback in the NFL, for that TD.

I hope the proceeds from today's win will go to growing some grass in Paul Brown stadium. Then again, maybe the Bengals need to make their stadium a place where nobody can get footing.

Peter Warrick didn't seem to have much trouble with his footing today in the highlights I saw.

Seriously, everyone and their mother sensed this could be a trap game going in. Don't go throwing a hissy fit that they fell into it.

Fuck that...

The Bengals each and EVERY week have played the game to the final play. They have been a TOUGH team all year.

and If the Grass is made for the Bengals to succeed...Why do they bitch about it all the time and they have lost plenty of times to teams that are "worse" then K.C is.

That just shows how bad your defense is when Kitna of all people can run around...

In case you haven't noticed...Kitna just may be the only QB whom ever sacked himself.

Aside from a 30-10 loss at Denver in Week 1, look at their defeats:

Oakland: 20-23

Pittsburgh: 10-17

Buffalo: 16-22

Arizona: 10-17

All close, all against teams they, at this point in the season, are better than.

Could you imagine if the Bengals would have pulled two or three of these games out?...

Well, Let's Face it, Lewis admited that this Season was merely just preparing the team for 2004.

Those four close loses hardened the team and gave them the movtivation that got them to where they are now.

Yes, In Hindsight it's amazing to think that the bengals COULD have been 9-1.

They are really the only consistant team outside of the Titans, Chiefs, and Colts.

When I saw that Pittsburgh game earlier in the season I was so amazed at how this team improved in less than one season.

And really the only thing that burned the Bengals that game was the fake field goal.

Are the home games in Cincy still blacked out for the most part, or are there people finally going to the games, Choken?...
