Eclipse Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 Well, on my s/n, all I did was enter a chatroom, and then all of a sudden, some s/n "Henry owns you" and "Screwyoubot" just keep IMing me into infinity. I close the windows, and then they IM me again and warn me. I can't block because there are so many instances of the names. Is there a way I can get rid of them? Or is it a dumb trick they do?
Guest Coffey Posted November 11, 2003 Report Posted November 11, 2003 You can't block their s/n's? There is a way to disable warning too, if I'm not mistaken. The warnings don't actually do anything anyway....unless you're getting up to over 100%. Also, they can't warn you unless you reply to them first...so turn off away messages.
Eclipse Posted November 11, 2003 Author Report Posted November 11, 2003 My warning is already over 100%. I had to log under my other s/n because it won't let me go to my other s/n due to "rate limiting." What is that?
Youth N Asia Posted November 12, 2003 Report Posted November 12, 2003 Did you have issues with Prime fella? That happened to me when he was around.
Guest JohnnySwift Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 Sounds like he's using Aim Invader on you. Best way to protect yourself is to set you privacy to only allow people on your buddy list, Or you could always use it back against him...
Jobber of the Week Posted November 13, 2003 Report Posted November 13, 2003 You can change your preferences while Singed Out. Log into AIM and quickly push cancel when it tries to log you in, then right click on the icon in the bottom-right and choose Preferences. Add those SNs to your block list and allow only buddies to contact you in case the attackbots just change their names.
