I recently installed Windows XP, and soon found out that its incompatible with my Adaptec CD Creator. Apparently, there's missing components and it won't launch anymore.

Anyone else have this problem?

Also, what CD Creator can I use now? and can I download it from Kazaa?

I had this happen before when I tried to use the copy of mine that came with my old computer.  The program isn't that good anyway, just download Nero and find a crack.

What's Nero?

"find a crack" ?

and yes, Adaptec DOES suck ass J.

If you downloaded the demo version, just download a key generator for Nero off Kazaa. You should be able to enter the code it gives you to get the full version. That should work, not quite sure because my copy was free from work.

go to KazaA and downlaod the latest version of Nero with a crack and you're set

Sooooo....I type what into the Search Engine: "Nero with a crack"?

first type "Nero" and look for the one most people have, something like "Nero 5.5.x.x" or something similar or just download a demo version

then type "Nero 5.5.x.x crack" or "Nero 5.5.x.x key generator" and see which one matches with your version and done

Ok, I'm fed up with trying to download new CD burning software!

Since I installed XP over my old Windows 98 Operating System. Can I uninstall it, and go back to Windows 98?

Is that possible?

NOOOOO!!! Mr. Piss doesn't allow failure! In all seriousness, switching operating systems is going to be much more trouble than downloading a new burning program.

So I can't just click, uninstall Windows XP, and automatically go back to 98?

BE CAREFUL!

Dear god people. Downloading Nero and shit off Kazaa is *BEGGING* for viruses!

At least give him a link to a BitTorrent client and Suprnova. Sheesh.

However Bif, if you do plan to use Kazaa, generally the bigger (20MB to 50MB) file is more likely to be what you're looking for. Any 500Kb file labeled "Nero Complete + Crack" or something similar should obviously be a little too identifiable.

But damn people. Kazaa.... Goddamn.

Man, I'M FUCKED.

I can't get any decent software and now I'm really paranoid about using Kazaa.

Does ANYONE have any software on their PC that they could possible send to me, and help me out? I'd be SO SO SO grateful.

Bif, download a good BitTorrent client. I use Shad0w's modified client.

http://www.suprnova.org is a huge bittorrent site. You'll find Ahead Nero 6 somewhere under the Apps section. It'll include a serial or crack of some sort. Suprnova also has a whole shitload of other stuff but the MPAA/RIAA lurks there often (BitTorrent shows your IP to everyone you're sharing with) so I wouldn't go running after that unreleased album I've always wanted if I were you.

Nero is quickly becoming the gold standard in CD burning. It seems to be the one thing everyone agrees upon, whether because it's powerful or simply easily piratable I don't know.

EDIT (READ ME): Oh crap, I also forgot! Windows XP has a built-in CD burner! Insert a blank CD, cut/copy and paste the files to the CD drive, open it up and there will be an option to burn that disc.

This method doesn't burn VCDs and other oddball CD types like Nero does, but if all you want to do is backup files or make music CDs, it works. Plus you already have it and don't have to go running off for pirated software to use it.
