Vern Gagne Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 This was by far the funniest and greatest sports century ever. The pictures of him with the curly hair, porno mustache, with gold chains in speedos and towels are so funny. The stories of him leaving practice in a limo, and conducting post game interviews naked are things you can't make up. All Hail the CEO of the New York Stock Exchange.

CanadianChris Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Whoa, thought I was looking at Rick Rude for a second.
kkktookmybabyaway Posted November 24, 2003 Report Posted November 24, 2003 Love LT's look. You'd think Mark was stealing his crack pipe or something...
snuffbox Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 I remember when Gastineau became a pro fighter....yeah, that worked out well
Vern Gagne Posted November 25, 2003 Author Report Posted November 25, 2003 All Hail the CEO of the New York Stock Exchange. New York Sack Exchange 'Nuff said *slaps self* The boxing part was funny, because Gasteneau payed off these hacks to take dives. The first time someone didn't play a long they KO'd Gastineau in the 1st round.
Slayer Posted November 25, 2003 Report Posted November 25, 2003 The irony of that SI cover is how that was the year the Giants won the SB, while the Jets would continue to toil in mediocrity/sub-mediocrity until a certain coach from that same Giants team came over 11 years later. Interesting Forgotten Tidbit: Mark Gastineau turned self-promotion into an art form with his dance ritual that accompanied quarterback sacks in the early 1980s. His antics played a large part in the NFL making such celebrations illegal in March 1984. Ladies and gentleman, we are the No Fun League
