EdwardKnoxII 0 Report post Posted November 24, 2003 The Bret/midget thing was absolute shit. It made me realize that Shawn was in on the screwjob. That to. I also hated it cause you know that Bret wasn't going to show but, they keep on teasing it like he was.
Guest FatLesnar Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Exactly... they were blatantly making fun of the guy behind his back. Very unprofessional, if you ask me. That's when I first realized that Vinny Mac truly is an asshole even when he's out of character.
Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Behind his back? Bret refuses to job on his way out, so they have a Midget dressed as him come out on National TV.... that's about as far from "behind his back" as you can get And WWF was only fighting back from WCW giving their results away, buying up their talent, and tossing out their titles
Guest FatLesnar Report post Posted November 24, 2003 First of all, buying out talent is fair business. While it might be considered an 'underhanded' tactic, it was still a smart business move. Secondly, WCW never gave away the WWF's results until the night when Mick won the title, which was long after Bret left, thus long after the midget. Lastly, what Vince essentially did was attempt to destroy the man who helped make his company what it was, ruining any possibility that Bret might return in the future if Vince felt he needed him back. Well hiring a Midget to make fun of a 40 year old millionaire who's about to enter your top competitor's company is fair business. As far as the Mick results thing goes, your showing your ignorance.... "He beats the big guy with 3 kicks" is all I have to do to respond to that Vince had Rock, Austin, Shamrock, HHH, Taker, Kane..... He had his go to guys for a while, Bret didn't set attendence or ratings on fire during his last run anyways
Guest FatLesnar Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Are you saying that WCW gave away WWF's results before the night when Mick won the belt? I'll gladly admit to being wrong if you let me know when it happened before that.
Guest Boo_Bradley Report post Posted November 24, 2003 The RAW that Shawn faced Sid at during the Fall of 95 I believe Bitchoff gave the whole RAW line up + results away
Guest FatLesnar Report post Posted November 24, 2003 Really? See, I didn't know what... I was just assuming that Mick's win was the first time, since there was no mention of prior occurrences when Foley talked about it in his book. I guess I am ignorant. cawthon777 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 Yeah, I remember the 9/11/95 Raw that had been hyped for weeks (Raw took 2 weeks off after Summer Slam). So I turn on Nitro to watch Hogan vs. Luger and Bischoff gives away the entire Raw show ... not that I really cared since I was going to watch the show anyway, but it was shocking. Bischoff did it almost weekly for several months - at least when Nitro went head-to-head with a taped Raw (which was 3 weeks a month). "Jake Roberts beats the dentist. ...Wait, Jake Roberts? Is he still wrestling?"

I remember them giving away the results of the "RAW Bowl". -=Mike
Papacita 0 Report post Posted November 25, 2003 I didn't think the midget thing was all that bad, especially if they were planning on running an HBK/Owen feud in the near future. I think they were more interested in building heat for that than they were in trying to humiliate Bret... How would that even humiliate Bret anyway?
