The Czech Republic Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 I think after all these years, "Ken Griffey Jr. Presents Major League Baseball" is showing its age. So I'm wondering if you can give me any ideas on which game should be on my Christmas wish list to replace it. Basically I'm just looking for what has the best overall gameplay, and attention to detail in regard to the ballparks.
Jobber of the Week Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 Good luck. Sega's World Series Baseball is generally considered the best console MLB game, and Sega abandoned GameCube the other year (their one baseball offering was the GameCube exclusive "HomeRun King" which was pretty lame compared to WSB). All-Star Baseball 2004 was cancelled when 3DO went bankrupt. MLB Slugfest is an arcade-style game. If you insist on using Nintendo, might as well head back to Griffey.
Big McLargeHuge Posted November 27, 2003 Report Posted November 27, 2003 You'll have to wait for MVP Baseball 2004 next May if you want another simulation style baseball game. I prefer it over the vastly overrated WSB franchise, but the MVP series is from EA and I hear they're evil or something.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted November 28, 2003 Report Posted November 28, 2003 Wait a second. I think you mean that High Heat Baseball 2004 wasn't released for the Gamecube. All Star Baseball 2004 wasnt cancelled. I bought it for $39.99 back in may. Given that its the only baseball sim game on the Cube its pretty much all you got. MVP Baseball didn't get released on the Cube for some reason and Im not sure about next year. The new realistic SLUGFEST from Midway will probably make its way to the cube, but please...its MIDWAY.
