Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 To be honest, I quite liked it. I'm unsure if you'll remember this one in particular, Venger, but the last episode I saw was of this monster that would take the photos of innocent people, thus causing them to turn invisible. Taylor also ended up taking the brunt of one of the monsters attacks and, of course, everyone else made a valiant attempt to save her. Although I thought the monster was pretty half-assed, I really got into all the new costumes and weapons etc. I really like the Zords in this series as well and Alyssa's already the coolest ranger on the show in my book. Obviously, it can only go down from here judging from your analysis of the show, and I'm aware of how big a fan you are of the PR series. And thanks, DR, for the awesome link, I owe you one. starvenger 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 It's a combination of little things that annoy me about Wild Force: - The continuing trend of the characters wearing the same clothes all the time. This started with Lost Galaxy and ( Karone in [p]leather aside ) really, really annoys me. You'd think that Alyssa's classmates would be wondering what was up with that. - Speaking of clothes, the Ranger vests were also a bit much. I realize that this notion was taken from Gaoranger (where they at least had some cool jackets) but when you have "Iron Bison" or "Soaring Eagle" on your back in the same city where there are Power Rangers doesn't it get a wee bit suspicious? - Also, isn't it kind of odd that only Alyssa does anything outside of being a Ranger (while they were rangers)? All they do is hang around on the floating island. - Three words: "Never geeve up!" - The Rangers personalities are VERY two-dimensional. We're not expecting deep character studies from PR, but this was probably the worst development of the principals that I've seen. - The Red Ranger is/was an incredibly bad actor. Apparently the main qualification for the job here was that he was ripped. - Max. Incredibly, repeatedly using the phrase "I'm not a kid!" annoyed me more than anything That Little Snot ever said on PR Turbo. - No mention of a relationship between Tommy and the yellow ranger. Oh wait, that was on MTV's Undressed. On the other hand, I did like: - The Growl/Gao phones. I suppose that with the vests, they didn't need blatant morphers to indicate "hey, I'm a Power Ranger". - The Battlizer mode sequence. I actually don't like the Battlizer when it's being USED, but the sequence where the Red Ranger gets "battlized" reminds me of Centurions, one of my favourite cartoons as a kid. - The millions of potential combinations for the Zords. By the way, the Ninja Storm and Wild Force zords are interchangable (something I tried after seeing Hurricanger vs Gaoranger).
Ed Wood Caulfield 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 I take it you REALLY hate that kid from Power Rangers Turbo. Why? I thought he was alright. Sure, he was alittle annoying, but I didn't think he was bad.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted February 17, 2004 I hope in future eps, they explain what happened to Tommy's Zeo powers. Hopefully, in ep. 500 (next is 499), they'll have the explanation.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted February 18, 2004 I take it you REALLY hate that kid from Power Rangers Turbo. Why? I thought he was alright. Sure, he was alittle annoying, but I didn't think he was bad. That was Justin, and I agree with Venger, he blew. Power Ranger fans around the world rejoiced at the end of Turbo when we became aware that he would not be returning in the next series. He just seemed really out of place and I felt he was a patronizing character that I just couldn't like, no matter how hard I tried. UYI
