Have I ever said that a team's not alowed to lose a game?

Hm?

HMMM?  :P

Let's rename your team to the "New York Angles" and see how you feel then

I don't get it.

Here we go with the payroll bitching. In a football thread.

Does George Steinbrenner's Geritol give him mind control powers that lets him force all 29 other owners to a) not spend money or b) refuse to sell to someone who will?

On top of that, there were running allegations that Rhodes was fired because he was black, and while I don't like to sound like KKK's two favorite people, it could make sense, given how Green Bay the city is

Anybody who lives in/near Philly (me), or is an Eagles fan (not me), could tell you Rhodes is a bad head coach. He makes a good/great defensive coordinator, but making him a head coach is beyond his capabilities.

The same Ray Rhodes who took Eagles teams lead by Rod Peete and Ty f'king Detmer to the playoffs?

Like I said, 8-8 wasn't that bad considering everything that'd happened over that season (Holmgren up-and-outing, Chmura's legal problems, etc), and it seemed like a shock that Rhodes was dropped so quickly.

Yes, the same Rhodes who went 10-6, 10-6, 6-9-1, and 3-13 during his tenure as Eagles coach.

But he at least pulled them back up for a little while after Rich Kotite pretty much drove Buddy Ryan's team into the ground, on top of Cunningham gradually phasing himself out of the game

I'll give you that, but Rhodes himself ran the team into the ground, too. Had the Eagles kept Rhodes, I highly doubt they would have even come close to being as good as they are now under Reid (who the fans just *BURIED* when he was hired).

Ah yes, I remember when Reid was hired, I thought he was Holmgren's brother... I referred to them as the Walrus family, with Holmgren as Walrus Sr. and Reid as Jr.

Sadly Holmgren has shaved his moustache, but I still call him that anyway

Rhodes inherited a solid team, Kotite was just such a fuck up he couldn't do anything. Once that team left, he blew. Besides the fact they only won one game in the playoffs, the joke game against the Lions. Not much of an accomplishment.

The players Rhodes brought in Reid turned into superstars, so Rhodes has to be held accountable for sucking somewhere in that equation.

Unbelievable.

When was the last time the Super Bowl teams each failed to follow up with .500 records?

1999, Denver (6-10) and Atlanta (5-11)

I can't wait to hear Fat Ass Sapp run his mouth during the off season how it's all the media's fault the Bucs went (likely) 7-9.
