Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted November 30, 2003 I had a hell trip to the Walgreens near me. I'll go into details if you wish to know, but I have had a horrible day. When I got there, they didn't have the sale. I did however pick up two WWF Hardcore DVDs (one for me and one for my cousin) and the Hulk Still Rules DVD (for my cousin, I already have it). When I left in search of the stores, the ONE DVD that I was really hoping to find was indeed that Hardcore DVD, so I can't be too pissed off. They were $5.99 each, which is still a great deal to me. Had the special sale been going on, you can be sure that I would've bought EVERY Pro. Wrestling DVD that they had, even if I already had them. You could sell them to other people and make a few bucks if you could get them for fucking $2.50 or whatever. Note: The closest Walgreens to me is an hour away...it took much much longer than an hour to get there today. I wouldn't waste my time on Hardcore DVD if it was only the VHS-like portion, but the 20 extra matches is nice...and the several full matches in the regular portion adds to it. WTF. How could any one that is a fan of WWF(E) not want this dvd? It has 20+ matches on it, talks about the Hardcore division, etc... It may not be the best stuff, but it's cool to have when you want to go a bit back in time to relive a few of the cool Hardcore moments.

I did want it, but if it was only the main segment only with Tazz and no bonus matches, then I wouldn't. With the many extra matches, it's a must have and has some really good matches (and bad ones too) like Raven/Rhyno, Raven/Show/Kane and the many adventures of Crash Holly. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted November 30, 2003 I do have a habit of sometimes talking stupid. ::random person:: habit my ass! You always talk like that! I'ma check them out 2moro and buy more DVD's even though the sale is over and they are now $5.99.
teke184 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 Picked up "Triple H- That Damn Good" and "The Rock- Just Bring It: Special Edition" for $5.99 each. It's worth it to get the Trips-Jericho Last Man Standing match from Fully Loaded 2000 and to upgrade my current version of JBI to the two-disc SE. (I get about $7-9+ in trade credit at Wherehouse for a 3 for 1 tradein, so it's worth the $5.99 cost)

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted November 30, 2003 Was the sale a one time thing, or do they have this every so offten? I think it was a one time thing as I've been going to Walgreens now and then and have never seen ANY wrestling tapes there in the past 2 yrs.
teke184 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 Was the sale a one time thing, or do they have this every so offten? I think it was a Black Friday sale, Black Friday being the day after Thanksgiving and the biggest shopping day of the year.
DerangedHermit 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 I'm all tapped out of money, but I'll probably check there again next weekend. I love the Hulk Still Rules DVD (the Python powder/packs skit and the Tutti Frutti is freaky) and the nWo DVD is worth it for the entire BatB match. I hope when I go back, they have Mick Foley: Hard Knocks & Cheap Pops, Hardcore, Rebellion 2001 and HHH: The Game. Thank you, Walgreens. This already makes you better than CVS (and equal to Eckerd). Downhome 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 Thank you, Walgreens. This already makes you better than CVS (and equal to Eckerd). I agree, but I found WWF Action at my local CVS for $9.99 a few weeks ago, so I can't just toss them aside.
teke184 0 Report post Posted November 30, 2003 Besides the That Damn Good and Rock: Just Bring It DVDs, my Walgreens also had the following quality titles: Triple H: The Game (Flair-Steamboat) Summerslam 2001 (Austin-Angle) No Mercy 2001 (Rock-Jericho) Steve Austin: What

Good find though (I also hope they have it @ Walgreens) Also if you want older VHS WWF tapes (usually pre-Attitude), check thrift stores as well.

Guest Olympic Slam Report post Posted November 30, 2003 Damnit! I wish I had read this yesterday as there's a Walgreens like a MINUTE from my house. I'll go by tommorow and see if there's anything worth getting even without the special deal.

Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted December 1, 2003 Just got NWO:Back in Black and WWF Hardcore today. One bad thing about the NWO DVD is they make WCW seem so evil, and saying the WWF was ALWAYS #1. And those idiots at Walgreens thought it would be a good idea to put the stickers on the DVD and not the shrink wrap. Now, the DVD is all sticky on the front. PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted December 2, 2003 Damn, I just got back from a Walgreens and all I could find was "Stone Cold Steve Austin: What?" which I got because the 2 extra matches are great. Hopefully I'll do better at the next store I check... "Hulk Still Rules" will make a great christmas gift.
River City Rocker 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 I went to the nearest Walgreens on Thanksgiving to check out the selection. This location had the NWO one, the Mick Foley one, as well as Invasion and SS 2001. By the time I returned on Saturday, not only were all four of those titles gone, but most of the rest of the DVDs were too. I'm guessing there's another TSM regular who lives in the Evansville area who hit all five Walgreens locations and got everything. On the bright side, I did score Hulk Still Rules for $12.99 last Friday. Wasn't as good as $5.99, but I'll take it. -Ben
