CanadianChris 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 Yes, and it makes sense. The better team has the chance to rest and heal up, as well as thoroughly scout and prepare for their opponent. A two-week gap heavily favours the favourite; a one-week gap makes it more likely that an upset will occur. New England won because St. Louis wasn't ready for their defense and Warner's thumb was injured; given another week, that may not have been the case.
kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 Don't Two week layoffs traditionaly have the blowouts? Last year...two weeks. The 2001 "gem"? One week. The Rams/Titans Super Bowl was a one-week layover, too. Game wasn't great, but it wasn't a blow-out...
Cartman 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 The Rams lost to the Patriots because the Patriots were the better TEAM. Keep in mind the last loss the Pats had that year was against the Ramd in Foxboro, in a game in which the Rams all came away from saying that the Pats were the toughest team they have played BY FAR. That Pats team decimated opposing offenses with it's incredibly hard hitting style defense. Hell even A. Smith was having a decent running year including punnishing defensive players he hit. That Pats team was smashmouth football at it's best. I seem to remember that teams almost always lost their games the week after they played the Pats because they were so beat up and decimated offensively. The Rams came in with their finesse and the Pats punnished them. I honestly believe that the Pats tought every other team how to beat the Rams in that system they were playing in. Not to mention ruined Warner's career.
ANKLELOCK 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2003 Looks like UT is going to the Peach Kotz. I know its a travesty. Somehow FLORIDA gets the Outback though they are the worse team. And Miami gets the BCS bid because they won the sorry Big East though they are the worse team.

JangoFett4Hire 0 Report post Posted December 4, 2003 How can you say that a Super Bowl that was decided in the final seconds wasn't great? especially when the team who won wasn't even supposed to be there? Hell, One of their hometown reporters picked the Rams to win 72-0? That being said Pats Cheifs Indy Tits Bengals Phins and i might put the Jets up there as they can play the role of "spoiler" for a few teams, and they've been playing tough...
