B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2003 I found out that my brother's band, Inept(based out of the Chicago area. Well, Joliet, to be exact), will be spending the entire month of February out in Los Angeles. The rather popular-with-the-kids band Trapt is flying them out to LA on 31 January and putting them up for a month. They'll be recording and playing shows all over California with the band. The lead singer for Trapt's father is starting a new label and wants Inept to be their flagship act. I'm a very proud big brother, and I thought I'd share this new info with my fellow music friends at TSM. If you're up for it, check out http://www.ineptband.com and DL some of their MP3's. If you like them, great. If not, to each his/her own.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 5, 2003 at least bands aren't worried about false advertisement lawsuits anymore... Pissed Off Fan: YOU GUYS ARE CRAP! Crap Lead Singer: That's right baby! WE'RE CRAP! ROCK!
B. Brian Brunzell 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2003 Slap your brother for having a band named "INEPT" I preferred the name I came up with, which was "Embellish." But oh well, it's not my band.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted December 5, 2003 That sounds pretty awesome. Good for your brother! And as for Trapt being big with the kids, that's a shame. They have a much better album than their singles would imply.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Slap your brother for accepting a deal being put together by the father of a member of one of the worst fucking bands in the past decade. That'd almost be as bad as signing a deal with Fred Durst...ALMOST.
Guest Ronixis Report post Posted December 6, 2003 Congrats to your brother. Hope they can get some props and maybe even Agent could give them JUST a little bit of "well, I will say they are not Limp, but they have along way to go to become great..." type of thing. And the rest of yall were warned. He did to each of his/her own...

If they can get signed and put their album out to the masses, why not go for it, even if Trapt sucks?
Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 8, 2003 alot of good bands are on labels with other shitty bands... LOA for instance. They gotta share the Roadrunner spotlight with Nickelback. Of course, R.R hypes the shit outta NB and leave LOA in the air.

I gotta agree with ya Brunzell, a record deal is a record deal. I don't care if you're on Apple records or a Dreamstreet owned record label. Congrats to you and your lil bro Brian. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted December 9, 2003 If I were getting a record deal, I'd have the common sense to turn it down if it fucked me over (as most record deals with major labels do these days), or if the bands on the label sucked (since, more often than not, a band sucks because the record company makes them produce a certain type of song, thus referencing my "record company fucking the artist over" comment earlier). PLAGIARISM! 0 Report post Posted December 10, 2003 There really should be a band called The Twats by now, assuming there aren't 1,000 floating around here in England somewhere.
