Favorite Way Of Belts Carried

Recommended Posts

I saw Bret Hart do it once. When he returned to enter the ring in over time at WM12. He threw the belt on the ground, jumped in the ring and did the job for Shawn.

Bret wasn't a happy camper that night.

QUOTE (Fook @ Dec 9 2003, 02:16 PM)

I always hated when Austin or Rock would just drag it behind them like it was a piece of trash. It was even worse when they would chuck it down to the ground before getting in the ring. You never saw Flair or Bret doing that.

Austin I can understand it for. It's part of his character.

Rock I have no idea why he did that though.

I really hated it when Rock would be on the turnbuckle to hold up the belt and it would be backwards. In other words instead of him showing off the gold he would be showing off that leather strap behind it. That always pissed me off.

Yeah, that does suck.

Also...what about when a wrestler wears a title belt upside-down on his waist? It's rare, but it's happend.

Regal at WMX8, for example, with the IC title.

That was probably to show how pissed he was that the match had to continue.

As for the other ways, I fucking hate the around the neck way of holding the belt. It only makes the wrestler look like a putz, not a champ.

I haven't really seen the around the arm other than with Big Show and the hardcore title, and I don't think anyone really cared about that.

How about when wrestlers have too many belts to wear on their body?

Okay, I will stop posting pictures now. Sorry.

I've had this idea for a wrestler with to many belts so he wears one or two and the rest are carried to the ring by hot babes. Each holding one belt.

I saw that happen in a match from Japan, actually, all the belts were carried to the ring not by the wrestler, but by young women :)

Those are the same belts Ultimo Dragon carried around in WCW :)

Ah, then one of them...I think the top middle one...is the old WWF Light Heavyweight Championship.

THe one that they just kept in Mexico and Japan, never mentioned on TV, Benoit won as Pegasus Kid, and was abolished for the more recent one where Taka won it first.

Cool. I figured something like that would have happened over in Japan.

I have always wondered what specific title belts were included in the 8-belt J-Crown or J-Cup.

Really, I don't know the names of them all. Can anyone help?

The British Commonwealth Junior Heavyweight Title.

The World Wrestling Federation (WWF) World Light Heavyweight Title.

The Universal Wrestling Association (UWA) World Junior Light Heavyweight Title.

The New Japan International Grand Prix (IWGP) Junior Heavyweight Title.

The WWA World Junior Light Heavyweight Title.

The Wrestling Association " R " (WAR) International Junior Heavyweight Title.

The National Wrestling Alliance (NWA) World Welterweight Title.

The NWA World Junior Heavyweight Title.

Dragon also held the WCW Cruiserweight Title and the NWA World Middleweight Title...which he won from Corazon de Leon (AKA Chris Jericho) and held from 94-99.

Bret summed up my feelings about dragging the title, although that did fit in with Austin's "don't give a shit" character

Don't forget Rick Steiner wearing the belt backwards around his waist

We didn't, it was mentioned.

...hmm, what about when the nWo Spraypainted the Big Gold Belt and Hogan used it for Air Guitar?

I didn't mind that because it fits in with the angle that the nwo doesn't give a shit about wcw.

I loathe how Buh Buh Ray heaves his title belt into the ring when he makes his entrance. It's a sacrilege to the great teams who have worn that belt with honour.

Same goes for all the other monkeys who don't wear the belt around the waists like they're supposed to. They're belts! Duh!

So you'd boo Yokozuna then since he didn't wear the belt around his waist?

Of course. He was a heel! ;)

Seriously, if you're too big to wear the belt, they should tie the ends together with shoelaces or something. Or have an XXXL belt handy just in case big fatties like Vader or Rikishi or Stephanie win the championship.

(Sorry for you people who hate all the images, but it's needed)

You mean, like this?

Oh, and just for something that COULD have been, but never was, but SHOULD have...

I really like that Big Show pic with the belt. He looks mean and like a champ.

Yeah, but it makes me laugh.

Because on Tom Zenk's website, he took that picture...and replaced Show's head with Stephanie's.

Where are the guys from "Queer Eye For The Straight Guy" when you need them?

What's wrong with DiBiase in that picture?

I'm thinking this was before he had the black tux with the gold lapels.

Not to get off topic, but when Vince Russo was wearing the NWA World Title while he was doing promos for AJ Styles, a part of me cried inside.
