Raw X Special: and why it's important

Recommended Posts

Guest wrestlingbs

Something got me to thinking about the imfamous Raw X special that occured almost a year ago, and I think I know what it is. With WM 20 aroung the corner, a lot of talk is going into what matches there are going to be. Rock has already nixed the idea of working with Cena, and the Flair/Steamboat idea is gone as well. Since both Raw X and WM 20 share similar qualities (both are aniticipated events, a lot of hype for each) what do you think the WWE should do to avoid Raw X's mistakes?

Besides not sucking.

The problem with Raw X is that they had wanted to bring in a bunch of their old stars, but then didn't want to pay them enough and then scrapped bringing anyone in.

The problem with WM20 will be if they do decide to bring in too much old talent which will take away from the current and future stars who should be allowed to shine in matches that aren't cut short because we need a silly Hogan/Savage skit.

The one thing I hated most about Raw X was the Top 10 Moments and the awards. So...obviously...rigged.

And HHH showing his ass.

Pheh...I could deal with that.

Oh that whacky couple, what hijinx will they get into next?

RAW X was the best the WWE could have done with their millions of dollars and months of planning and hype, so BACK OFF, your expectations were obviously too high. Why do you even watch?

The thing I liked about the RAW X show was the two videos that were made by the WWE for that show. One was the "Looked Good On Paper" which is one of the coolest WWE videos(" You still have to pay your taxes!"), and the video dedicated to those whoi have passed away, such as Andre, Owen, Yoko(not Ono), and Davey Boy. Plus, I liked watching the Pillman-Austin Gun Clip in the "Technical Difficulties" category. They actually chanted for Pillman! I was surprised.

The rest of the show sucked! :firing:

The weird thing is this show led me to getting back to being a fan of wrestling. Maybe it was all those clips from the Attitude Era.

But the DVD is worth getting for TLC 2002, and the Easter Egg that shows pictures of all the Bad Gimmicks! :headbang:

And I think calling that so-so TLC match as the best Raw match ever just killed any credibility the show had.

The whole thing was bullshit and any of the "awards" were just given to people who were still with the company.
