AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2003 A friend of mine and I were playing it today (Playstation version), and we're trying to place just what some of the music is. Specifically, the theme that plays once you win one of the titles (the "ending" as lame as it is), and the theme that plays at the character select screen (as you first go to the screen or after winning a title). I'm pretty sure the ending music is the old Superstars theme and the latter is one of the WM themes, but I'm not sure. Plus, if anyone can hook me up with the themes to download (I'm not a Kazaa-er/Bit Torrent/etc guy, but maybe something off a site?) I'd appreciate it. Anyone else as big into that game as me? It was what convinced me to buy a Playstation, and it's about the only arcade wrestling game to come close to the insanity that was Saturday Night Slam Masters (which we also were playing today; The Scorpion and Titanic Tim--tag team champs!). Thanks for any help in advance.
Anya 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2003 I don't know about the music, but I do love that game. I have played quite a bit of all the different home versions. At one point or another I've owned it for Genesis, PC, 32X and Saturn and have played the PSX and SNES ones a ton. It's great! It has my second favorite gaming urban legend: Adam Bomb is a hidden character in it.
Karnage 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2003 Kwang's a hidden character in RAW for 32X.
The Czech Republic 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2003 It has my second favorite gaming urban legend: Adam Bomb is a hidden character in it. THAT'S NOT AN URBAN LEGEND! MY FRIEND TOLD ME HE GOT IT, SO IT MUST BE TRUE! So then what's #1 for urban legends? I've been told that Mortal Kombat has a character named Hornbuckle, there are moves called Fergalities, and I'm sure there are more. Others: Final Fantasy II: Rydia can learn Big Bang, Kain is also Cecil and Golbez's brother, and some assorted stuff about secret weapons that require doing really dumb time-consuming things to unlock. Final Fantasy III: Gogo is Darryl, or Golbez, or Cecil, or General Leo, or Ziegfried, and CAN BE REVEALED AS SUCH. Final Fantasy 7: If you beat Seraph Sephiroth with the Buster Sword, you can unlock Zack.

The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted December 13, 2003 i'm going to sound like such a prick here... but I bet Sakura's number one gaming myth involves FF7 and Aeris.
Damaramu 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 Other myth's I've heard: FFVII: You can get Sephiroth's sword from the back of the Shinra president. Mortal Kombat II: You can turn Sub Zero into a polar bear and eat people(this finally came in III) We should start a thread about this......I think I will. Anya 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 My favorite is not Aeris, but that's a great one. It's Ermac supposedly being in MK1. There is no Hornbuckle, but Fergality is TRUE. It's in Genesis MK II.

Arcade (played) Genesis (owned) SNES (played; it sucks) 32X (plays. Good but PS1 owns it) Playstation (own it, love it, bought the system for it) Saturn (It's basically the same as PS) PC (not as good as the PS version but decent.) What happened with the SNES version? Two missing characters and horrendous slowdown? Karnage: Yup, that one is true.
Anya 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 It's funny that Yoko is on the box art, yet not actually in the game on the SNES version.
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 It's funny that Yoko is on the box art, yet not actually in the game on the SNES version. Considering Acclaim did the home version, I'm not surprised. Still, Capcom in Slam Masters left the Hogan lookalike IN THE INTRO to the home versions despite him not being in the game.
Anya 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 That reminds me, I forgot to mention I love Slam Masters too. The Genesis one has the exploding death match!
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 14, 2003 That reminds me, I forgot to mention I love Slam Masters too. The Genesis one has the exploding death match! Yeah, I know because I played them both. It's exclusive to the Genesis and has barbed wire, bottles, chairs, and other weapons. I don't recall though--does the Genesis have the four player option or the Cooperative mode? I know the SNES does. I think on the Genesis only you can exit the ring, use weapons, and throw them into the ring and use them there. If SNES has it also I don't recall it. Genesis sound was rather bad, unfortunately. SNES has great sound--I noticed a lot of classic Capcom themes in there, or variations. One of the bg music was remixed and made into Huitzil's theme in Darkstalkers!
EricMM 0 Report post Posted December 15, 2003 Gau CAN do shock. I was messing around in the Veldt after getting to the last save point. If you leap these saurai looking guys (retainers?) and then use them Gau will do a Shock attack. I swear to god I wet myself a little the first time it happened. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 I want to play the sequel to Slam Masters. Heard it isn't as good--more of a one-on-one fighter--it's even one plane (i.e. ring's basically just a background). Of course, I haven't played it myself, so I could be wrong. Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted December 16, 2003 Dude, I played Slam Masters ONCE and loved it. Too bad my SNES sucks. If I can find a Genesis version somewhere, I'll play it on my Nomad.

Hawkius Maximus 0 Report post Posted December 17, 2003 I've played SNSM 2 and I reviewed it at Gamefaqs. HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE GOD DAMN GAME. Ruins everything SNSM has going for itself and you can see why we never got a third one in the series. Saturday Night Slam Masters has an unoffical upgrade called Muscle Bomber Duo. I dunno how easy it was to find in the arcades but I've played it on Emulators. Basicly, it enhances just about everything in the original with more moves and way better AI(You actually have to fight differently for everyone, not just Jumbo & Scorpion). I'd advise you to check that out if you want to check out a "Sequel"

It's just that I never left the ring when I was playing over at my friend's. Could someone please tell me whether or not the Genesis has Co-Op mode or not (Kinda like a tag team season without the tags)? Is there up to 4 players possible on the Genesis game?
