Guest El Satanico Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 This week an 80's classic, another Japanese horror film and a great TV show about kids are just a few of the releases. Click Here
Conspiracy_Victim Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Damn. Escape from NY SE. Time to make a late addition to my Christmas list. Other than that and South Park it's kind of a slow week as far as I'm concerned.
Jebus Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 South Park WITH commentary!!! I didn't get the first two seasons but I'll get this one right away...anyway, I know those two seasons like the back of my hand (just like Family Guy hence the no hurry to buy them) Also, eventually, I'll get the Dawson DVD's but the TBS reruns satisfy me for now
razazteca Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Will they ever make Escape from Cleveland?
BlackFlagg Posted December 14, 2003 Report Posted December 14, 2003 Escape From New York SE? dang, guess this is gonna be another double dip for me, heh
Guest El Satanico Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Say hello to the Tuesday bump.
eiker_ir Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Dog Soldiers, is it a re-release of the now OOP version or a entirely new edition?
Guest Ahhee Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 The Adventures of Ford Fairlaine
Guest El Satanico Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 Dog Soldiers, is it a re-release of the now OOP version or a entirely new edition? I couldn't find any extras for it, so it must be just a rerelease.
Bruiser Chong Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 I copped Dawson's Creek (review forthcoming), but nothing else. I'll get SP eventually, not just because of the mini-commentaries (which are a plus), but because this is where the show really began to take off. I'm intrigued by the Leage of Extraordinary Gentlemen, if for nothing else than to see why it was so panned when the concept was pretty interesting.
razazteca Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I liked LXG, I cannot understand the bad reviews based on the age of Sean Connerly being to old to be an action hero. It was a decent special effect action movie, that had characters from literature come together to stop a mad genius villian from taking over the world.
Guest El Satanico Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I've read that one of the reasons why LXG is panned so much, is that the movie changed alot from the graphic novel(comic books for adults) it was based on. By the way, I was working on next week's article and wow it's such an awful week for releases.
razazteca Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I think it had to be toned down for a PG-13 rating.
Bruiser Chong Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I've just heard that the script (or lack of one) is what hurts it the most. It starts out promisingly enough, but then takes a dive. I'll be the judge of that, though, but it'll prolly be a renter, as it's not worth risking 20 bones to make that assessment.
razazteca Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 It's worth renting and maybe $10 in about 2 months when it hits the 2 DVD for $20 used sale at Blockbuster or Hollywood Video. If you are a fan of the character Allen Quartermine it is a must see in a big budget B movie kind of way if that is possible.
