Guest Just J Posted December 17, 2003 Report Posted December 17, 2003 I must say the last time there was a swerve of this magnitude it involved the nWo when Hogan turned heel. I didn't actually like what happened Monday night but the simple fact that nobody saw it coming made it pretty damn good. Plus I, believe it or not, have faith that this will lead to something big. For right now though I'll just be happy that I was actually surprised at something the writers did, for once in a long time.

A swerve to me would be if Goldberg ran down to the ring before the match started, attacked Orton and then Foley attacked Goldberg to join Evolution. Foley walking out was a surprise, not really a swerve.

And besides, the last great WWE swerve is still the formation of ECW, to team with WCW, on that Raw in July 2001. Unfortunately, as we all know, they ruined it an hour later.

Got in the ring, shoke the ropes up, and just ran backstage, and walked out on the company a bit. Now that is hilarious.

And of course, were JR to be punched by anyone for at least 50% of every raw, 78% of saturnsmarks4lives agree this would make 'must-see viewing'. Same with Hurricane.His match with Hurricane was announced that it will take place "Next Week" but happened the week after that week. In March Brock/Angle was announced to happen on Smackdown but the match did not happen.

Okay, I was watching the RAW X DVD, and there was a RAW Retro moment as a special feature. It showed ANGLE and Mcmahon forcing JR into the ring and then a CLOSEUP to make it look like underground porn. When I paused at this moment, I saw that it wasn't ANGLE whose hand was shoving JR into the ass, but it was the UNDERTAKER. Why did it turn out like this?

RepoMan Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 That wasn't close to a swerve. WWE would never show Foley's return match w/o hyping it for weeks to months, esp. on free TV. It was just a very poorly booked angle even by WWE standards, and I the pay-off was a very bad idea in the first place. The only swerve that I really cared for in recent history was the ECW reforming angle, and it sucked in the end.
