EricMM 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 WMXX seems to be a pretty hot topic these days. Who's maining and who's not maining. I just want to get people's guesses and gut reactions. For such a huge moment as the twentieth Wrestlemania, will WWE be able to bring about a show that will be memorable, or will they drop the ball? Given the performers likely to be there, the angles likely to occur, do you think you will pop, will you mark out, will you REMEMBER and ENJOY this coming Wrestlemania? Guest Frank Grimes Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I think it will be very good. No, probably not the best one ever, but it's WrestleMania and they almost always bring their A-games to that and with such a special one as #20, I think it will be a very good show. Guest JumpinJackFlash Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Of course it will be good. And by the way, WM 19 was good. Probably my favorite wretlemania. Well, right behind 17 and 3...and 10....well, mybe just 17. Michaels vs. Jericho was fantastic! The last 5 matches all could;ve been main event matches for other PPVs, and the last one fit well with Wrestlemania, Angle vs. Lesnar.

cbacon 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I'm feeling less optimistic about WMXX, especially since Meltzer's latest news. It'll suck, just like WM19...I don't know why people like WM19. It sucks. WrestleMania XIX was awesome. It had that old "WrestleMania" feel to it and all the matches save for the tag, either met or exceeded expectations.

WM XX Never happend silly. And anyway... HBK/JEricho = awesome but HBK should have jobbed. Brock/Angle = awesome...to an extent. Brocks botched SSP ruined the ending Rock/Austin - not their best, but better than wM XV. Austin tried his best even though he was half-crippled at the time. Hogan/McMahon = mark out match cause Hogan rules.
Cuban Linx 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 I think WMXX will probably end up good, but it won't live up to the massive expectations people will likely have for it, being the 20th Mania and all.

The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Hogan/Vince was probably the worst 20 minutes I've spent watching wrestling. Austin/Rock wasn't good...it was punch kick for 10 minutes then another 10 minutes of finishers. It lacked anything that made the Mania 17 match great. Angle/Brock was good. Jericho/HBK was decent...but I don't buy for a second that it was great. Booker/HHH was slow and boring.
SamoaRowe 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 My question just is: why do so many people hate Wrestlemania 19 so much?!? All I ever hear is "it sucked." Sorry, that explanation does not hold ground. WHY did it suck. Was it because Triple H beat Booker T? Was it because Benoit was stuck in a midcard tag team match? Or was it because Brock Lesnar fucked up the shooting star press? Wrestlemania 19 was a great show that had many memorable matches. I liked every match on the card (yes, even McMahon vs Hogan). The show had some serious drama in it, and it's one of my favorite pay-per-views of all time.
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Brock/Angle = awesome...to an extent. Brocks botched SSP ruined the ending Yeah, but the hug made up for it. I haven't sportsmanship like that since WM 6 with Hogan / Warrior. That was a nice moment. And yeah, I enjoyed WM 19 very much so except HHH winning.

Matt/Rey: decent, too short ATrain/Big Show vs Undertaker: slow brawl, not interesting Victoria/Trish/Jazz: sloppy mess Haas/Benjamin vs Benoit/Rhyno vs Los Guerreros: solid, too many suplexes, no real substance HBK/Jericho: pretty sloppy, back work leads nowhere, stupid finish, wrong guy goes over HHH/Booker: too slow, too much resting, wrong guy goes over McMahon/Hogan: when seniors collide! slow mess, just garbage, no substance Rock/Austin: punch-kick for 10 minutes, add finisher-rest-finisher-rest-finisher-rest til end Angle/Lesnar: OK match, too many suplexes and punches, botched finish (although that doesn't hurt it much)

But it was good to hear your opinions about the show. I disagree on a few of the matches but that's alright. Yeah, I got that Anyone else care to go match by match on the show? I'll just do the undercard matches since I kinda touched up on the Main Events: Rey/Hardy: Too Fast, not enough time to mean anything. UT v. Show/Train: Decent since UT usually works a notch harder at the big shows, and w/o Jones, it was better than I expected. Three Way Tag: Too quick, didn't really like it because of hating triple threat tags. Jazz/Trish/Victoria: I hate Triple Threats, but this was pretty decent. Better than thw wM x-8 womens title. Booker/HHH: Decent, but the wrong guy went over, and that just soured the whole matc, but I was marking out a few times when Booker almost won. So pretty much the first 2 hours sucked, but I enjoyed the last 2.
chirs3 0 Report post Posted December 18, 2003 Matt/Rey: Very good, but very short. ATrain/Big Show vs Undertaker: Wasn't painful to watch. Victoria/Trish/Jazz: See above. Haas/Benjamin vs Benoit/Rhyno vs Los Guerreros: Very good, but a little too short for my tastes. HBK/Jericho: Aside from the crappy finish, this was a GREAT match, best of the night and one of the best of the year. HHH/Booker: Decent. Didn't set the world on fire, but it had its moments. McMahon/Hogan: Fun for what it was. Little too long, though. Rock/Austin: I haven't seen their X-7 bout, so I only can compare it to XV, and it blew that right out of the water, especially the ending. Angle/Lesnar: Really good match - a notch or two below Jericho/HBK, but still an awesome effort.

Can you please tell me why you like it so much? Not really. I don't know why I like it so much - I can't bullet-point the reasons. I just know that when I first watched it (and when I go back and watch it every now and then) I really really like it. Aside from the crappy finish, everything was done just right.
