LucharesuFan619 Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 The 12/27 convention card that will precede ROH's 12/27 interpromotional show with All Japan will feature Johnny Kashmere vs. Slyk Wagner Brown vs. CZW's Nick Gage Gage vs. Deranged. Also - Trent Acid vs. Sonjay Dutt, a CZW-bred rivalry. Could be good, if done right.
Zack Malibu Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Coming soon... Samoa Joe. Nick Gage. BATTLE O' DA BOOTSCRAPES~!
PsychoDriver Posted December 18, 2003 Report Posted December 18, 2003 Good to hear, I like Gage. But if they are booking CZW regs. why the hell haven't they booked B-Boy yet?
Guest Jay Z. Hollywood Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 WHODAMAN! Can't wait to see Gage bootscrape, chokebreak, and brainbuster the shite out of Slyk.
Michrome Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 They don't want B-Boy for a number of reasons that I can tell. 1) He will come across as CZW talent being used on an RoH show, much like the Backseat Boys did for a while. Gabe likes bringing in great (relatively) unknown workers. 2) The flyout cost is not worth it. 3) Him and Low Ki in the same promotion will take away some of the Ki novelty. And if you think Ki is done forever with RoH, you're nuts.

Guest bort Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I think they dont want too much CZW on a Show because they like the ROH feel most of there workers have, also the cost of transpertation for B-Boy is too much for what they would get in return i would say
Michrome Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I honestly don't think Gage's CZW work is well-known enough for it to make a difference. The guy is relatively unknown among non-CZW fans, whereas B-Boy is a very well known name.
Guest Peter_Griffin Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 B-Boy is one of the best wrestlers I have seen in the last two years. If anyone cares that he is a CZW guy working in ROH then that's their problem. Most people want to see good wrestling in ROH and B-Boy would bring that in spades.
Guest ManKinnd Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Gage does not fit in ROH at all. Who's gonna have a garbage brawl with him there? B-Boy would fit much better due to the fact that the can, you know, wrestle a match that isn't drowning in gimmicks.

Gage is a perfectly capable wrestler, he excels at brawling, but he CAN wrestle, and wrestle well.
Guest Real F'n Show Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Even if he is a capable wrestler, I'd much rather see B-Boy in ROH than Gage...

Categorizing Gage in the same category as Yamakawabea...errr...Wifebeater isn't right. Gage can wrestle pretty well. Nowhere near some of the other indy big men, i.e. Joe, Grimes, Malice (When he was alive), etc., but to categorize him as a garbage wrestler is bull. He escaped that stereotype awhile ago, IMO.
Guest ManKinnd Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 You still haven't answered my question.
Nevermortal Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 You still haven't answered my question. Watch his first two matches with Nate Hatred from this summer. His showing in the Iron Man Tournament from Redefined. H8 Club v. Backseats from earlier this year. Did that answer your question?
Guest ManKinnd Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 I'll check out the others, but I saw his matches with Hatred. Bland power stuff with terribly contrived spots.
Nevermortal Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 (edited) I'll check out the others, but I saw his matches with Hatred. Bland power stuff with terribly contrived spots. Perhaps they were, but they were fun as hell to watch. Edited December 23, 2003 by NM
LucharesuFan619 Posted December 24, 2003 Author Report Posted December 24, 2003 I can't believe no one mentioned his matches vs. his bro, Justice Pain. 90% of their matches together were a minimum of good and a maximum of fantastic.
