bob_barron Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 Ryerson University was on the bottom of this big survey of Canadian schools this year- I laughed.
The Amazing Rando Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 I would think the Air Force and Navy would just be disqualified... them being on the list isn't fair to other non-party schools!
Tawren Posted December 19, 2003 Report Posted December 19, 2003 Stone Cold Sober School: Brigham Young University
Guest stardust Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Best Quality of Life: Hollins University Although I only went there for a year, I would completely agree.
Guest Douche Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Least Partying Schools:Mount Holyoke College I visited there and it's fucking scary.
CanadianChris Posted December 20, 2003 Report Posted December 20, 2003 Ryerson University was on the bottom of this big survey of Canadian schools this year- I laughed. Don't tell me you were surprised.

Guest Just J Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 1) Top 10 most fashionable universities: University of Arkansas University of Mississippi I find those a little hard to believe.
Art Sandusky Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Campus Most Accepting to Gays: New York University Was this why all guys should want to go to NYU?
Guest Jimbo Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 I'd like to go to NYU for the city, but all the uber-liberals = *thumbs down* btw, most suicide cases: Cornel University and Harvard has waaaay too many TA's so I've heard, it's best to go there for the graduate schools, the basic junks is infested them TA's....
Red Baron Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Bob: Do you know the source that have the lists for the Canadian colleges and univeristys? Reefer Madness: Skidmore College Anyone else find that funny?
Mole Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Bob: Do you know the source that have the lists for the Canadian colleges and univeristys? Reefer Madness: Skidmore College Anyone else find that funny? That's funny because my ex wanted to go there, and at the time she didn't party that much. Of course my school isn't on there.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Posted December 21, 2003 Report Posted December 21, 2003 Campus Most Accepting to Gays: New York University Was this why all guys should want to go to NYU? I know that's why you'd want to go.

Your Paragon of Virtue Posted December 22, 2003 Report Posted December 22, 2003 Do you know the source that have the lists for the Canadian colleges and univeristys? http://www.macleans.ca/universities/index.jsp I think he meant rankings for the *real* criteria that is used when deciding on a university.

I'm sure he did, but those were most likely the rankings Bob was talking about. Of course, Bob's university IS in the gay section of Toronto, so anything's possible, I guess.
teke184 Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 1) Top 10 most fashionable universities: University of Arkansas University of Mississippi I find those a little hard to believe. Wonder why the U. of Mississippi is on the list? University of Mississippi = Ole Miss. Ole Miss = Greek heaven (the college is like 90% composed of sorority and fraternity members). It's like a fucking Abercrombie and Fitch catalog, complete with assholes and snobby bitches.

I recall reading in another thread that you graduated from mathematics or something or other at U of Waterloo. I'm thinking of taking either engineering or something heavily- math oriented in commerce, but not some ghey-ass economics arts degree. Sort of like accounting, but, well, not. Any advice to offer? I realize that this is sort of like a PM, but I'm sure there are others that might be interested, so you can answer it in here if you like......or not at all, but that's just mean. Is there a ranking for Canadian Universities like this one, where they talk about partying, drinking, whatever?

Time to pimp the alma mater, I guess... If you want engineering, then Waterloo is one of the places you should consider, along with Toronto and Queen's. Waterloo's Comp Eng prograam is cutting edge. Plus, you have the co-op program, so you get real work experience as well as a degree. (Bad part about that is that you don't get summers off. Good part about that is you get to go to summer school, which is awesome.) For the other program, Waterloo also has a Math/Business program, run jointly with Wilfrid Laurier University. One of the co-op students who's here is in this program, and he speaks very highly of it. You come out of it with a degree in Mathematics/Business Administration. Is there a ranking for Canadian Universities like this one, where they talk about partying, drinking, whatever? Not that I know of. You may want to check the library for books on Canadian universities. They may not rank schools, but they'll have info on that kind of stuff.

I knew that Waterloo was high on engineering, perhaps even moreso than Toronto. I live in Toronto, so I see no point in going to Queens when I have just as good a university over here. I was reading up on the Math/Business Admin. double degree, which is different then what you were telling me. I think I can be accepted, but the problem is how much consideration does the university take regarding the stupid Waterloo Math Contest? Pascal, or Euclid or whatever? I'm pretty sure it's been around for a long time....
CanadianChris Posted December 23, 2003 Report Posted December 23, 2003 Not much. The Descartes is the only one they really look at, and that's mainly for scholarships. If you take it and score higher than 0, you should be all right.

If you take it and score higher than 0, you should be all right. I've never heard of the Descartes, so I'll assume you mean the Euclid. If admissions ask for certain range regarding your grades, and your grades are within that range, are you a shoo-in for the program? This is more of a general question really. I'm assuming the guy at your work is talking about program. The only thing I'm worried about is what you can do with a degree, and this seems to open many doors. My grades aren't high enough for the Double Degree unfortunately, but I'll apply anyway, just in case.
Guest KJ Brackish Posted December 24, 2003 Report Posted December 24, 2003 12) Top 10 least party schools Brigham Young University I TOTALLY disagree! I know some people that went to BYU, that were so rebellious.....that........they............ drank COFFEE and COKE! OMFG! They are so going to hell now! DFA P.S. Obviously a sarcastic post, but it's true......it's SUCH an uptight school and one of THE hardest schools to get into........ if you're not MORMON!
