USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 That's right. My PS2 croaked tonight. Ahh now I am PS2-less for at least a month. I guess it's a good thing I got some good games for Gamecube to pass the time. No HCTP for now
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 I was sick of HCTP after the first week I bought it. What happend to your machine? UYI
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 I am suspecting HCTP is responsible. Ever since I played HCTP, my PS2 has started freezing up on me. Now it freezes up on other games too. And for the past week, it won't even read a damn DVD or PS2 disc. Tonight I came to terms with it and I called it dead.
dubq 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 I don't see how a game disc can ruin your system.. well, unless it's covered in fucking peanut butter or something.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 Strange. Do use a lot of Create-A-Wrestlers? I've found my PS2 makes a bizarre noise whenever I play as my CAW and watch his entrance etc. Thankfully for me, I'm not very big on CAW's so it is no big deal. I have, however, played it fairly often and encountered no problems whatsoever. I find it hard for a game disc to be responsible for the degeneration of an entire Playstation 2 console, but then again I have no knowledge whatsoever what what makes the things work and what sets them off. Golgo 13 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 One of the more popular reasons I've read for why HCTP (supposedly) does this to PS2s is because a batch of the games are defective, as in unbalanced, or thicker than other PS2 discs. But who knows.
Sonic Reducer 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 I feel your pain. And I am sorry for your loss.
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 Thank you. I'm thinking it was defective. And last night when I took the HCTP out of the console I was shocked to see DEEP scratch marks on the CD and it wasn't there when I popped it in. I tried Madden 2004, and same, DEEP scratch marks. I am quite baffled.
The Amazing Rando 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 so you ruined HCTP and Madden 2004... so when you get a new PS2 you won't have those two games to play...
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 Well I never intended to play THAT HCTP after the troubles I got with it. But Madden... I'm sad to say yes... I cannot play it anymore.
Molotov The Bear 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2003 I don't see how a game disc can ruin your system.. Well it does. The same thing happened to me a few days ago. Porter, goto sony's website and email them. They should be able to help.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted December 26, 2003 Just use a scratch-remover for the disk rather than buying a new Madden, or get a professional to replace the plastic casing.
