Guest Krazy Karter Report post Posted December 30, 2003 "The John Henson Project" Premieres On Spike TV Sunday, January 11 at 10:00PM ET/PT NEW YORK, NY (November 13, 2003) - History has seen many great philosophers espouse the virtues of man. Machiavelli...Nietzsche...and now Henson! John Henson brings his signature, irreverent humor to Spike TV with a new original, weekly half-hour series, The John Henson Project, on Sunday, January 11 (10:00-10:30pm ET/PT). John will provide his comedic contemporary commentary on everything from current events, sports, pop culture and lifestyle through a guy's perspective. "John Henson brings a fresh, creative voice to Spike TV," said Albie Hecht, President, Spike TV. "His humor is topical, progressive and he'll address what guys are really talking about in barbershops, ballgames, and locker rooms across the country." Each episode includes witty and often sardonic segments and comedic bits that speak directly to Spike TV's audience. John will also hit the streets to find the places and people that guys will want to get to know. Among the occasional featured segments on The John Henson Project include: · "Can I Kick His Ass?" - John decides what celebrities he could beat up and by what means he could accomplish such a task. Clay Aiken: Yes. Suge Knight: No. · "Man of the Week" - John honors the dubious achievements of everyday guys who accomplish the seemingly impossible and often absurd. · "What Were They Thinking?" - John will highlight things in the world that just don't make any sense. · "Prime Time Crime" - Shoplifters, jaywalkers, and tax-evaders need not apply. But John will spotlight moronic illegal acts ranging from the inept bank robbers to bumbling peeping toms. John Henson is best known as former host, writer and co-executive producer of the Emmy-award winning "Talk Soup" on E! Entertainment Television - one of E!'s highest rated series. The John Henson Project will be taped each week in Los Angeles. Spike TV has ordered 13 episodes. John Henson and Rory Rosegarten serve as executive producers. Peilin Chou is Spike TV's Executive in Charge of Production. Skunk Boy!

KingPK 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 A few years back, on the E! entertainment channel, there was a show called Talk Soup, which showed clips from all the daytime talk shows (Springer, Sally Jesse, Ricki Lake, etc.). Greg Kinnear was the first host of the show, but he left to pursue his acting career. Henson took over as host, and his brand of humor and writing, the low budget look of the show (it was just Henson sitting in front of a screen with a white background), along with the fact that Springer still had brawls, made it pretty damn funny to watch. It won an Emmy to boot. He left a few years ago, and Aiesha Tyler (the girl that Ross and Joey were smitten with last season on Friends) took over as host, and the show just tanked. It was cancelled in 2000 or 2001, I think. He's called "Skunk Boy" because he has dark hair with a small patch of white on one side of his head.
JasonX 0 Report post Posted December 30, 2003 Bear in mind that I've only had US cable for 1-1/2 years when I ask this: Who's John Henson? Comedy writer who from 1997-1999 hosted a talk-show recap show called "Talk Soup" on E!. John Henson used the show to mock the trashy talk-shows of the day with his sarcastic witt and deadpan humor as the show became a huge hit. Sadly he left the show after being offered a development deal at ABC that went absolutely no-where, causing him to fall out of the public eye...
