ChrisMWaters 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 OK...Royal Rumble is less than a month away (THIRD FROM RINGSIDE FOR ME! WHOO!). Now, just to start things off...looks like this year's Rumble is most likely going to have a re-match between Shawn Michaels and Triple H for the World Heavyweight Title. Do you guys want any special gimmick for this match? If not, how long would you like for it to go? As for the Rumble Match itself...should this year have an Iron Man for the Rumble? How about a quick elimination ala B-2 in 03 or Mo in 95? What about Mystery Entrants? Oh, and one thing I'd like: if there's no mystery entrants...Pre Rumble Match promos from everyone in the Rumble...ala the late 80's/Early 90's rumble matches. Aero 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 HBK vs. HHH rematch. I liked the idea of an "I Quit" match that was mentioned in the SK thread. If not that, than 2/3 Falls, the normal way. If WWE insists on putting on Brock-Holly, make it either a Street Fight or Cage. Now for the Rumble match... First of all, make it two minute intervals. Benoit enters at # 4 or something, Angle enters at # 8 or something, and they casually team up and eliminate a few guys. Eddie Guerrero comes in early, too, with Chavo coming in during the really late numbers. When Chavo enters, Eddie eliminates him, causing more problems. Have Goldberg enter late and destroy a few problems before being eliminated by Evolution or Kane. Basically, Benoit wins and goes onto WM to face Brock. Iron men are Benoit, Angle, and Guerrero. I'd like to see Lance Storm in their for a decent amount of time, too. I'd love to see some of the pre-Rumble interviews. I always loved those.

Guest Coffey Report post Posted December 31, 2003 What do I want for the Royal Rumble? That's easy, $35 worth of entertainment. Will it happen? Most likely no because even as a wrestling fan wrestling doesn't seem like it should cost that damn much. That's why I watch if elsewhere. I don't care who wins the rumble. I don't care who comes out with titles. I don't care who wins or who loses. I don't care who has a shitty attitude to the fans outside the arena or who missed their flight for a house show the day before. I just want to not be bored for the two hours and forty-five minutes that I'm watching.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 How about a return of a healthy Goldust, and nails Mark Henry in the yambag (TM Tazz) with the Shattered Dreams, then rejoins Booker and goes over Evolution's Orton and Batista in a decent little feud?
spman 0 Report post Posted December 31, 2003 The way I see it, they're gonna redo the 1992 Royal RUmble with Randy Orton playing Flair. Same ending with Goldberg as Hogan, Kane as Sid, and Orton as Flair.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 31, 2003 *SMACKDOWN SPOILER* (I cant do the thing) . . . . . .. . . . . . . . . . . . Chris Benoit will be #1 in the rumble and Angle, Gunn and Cena are "in". Might I say Benoit at #1 is HORRIBLE. Benoit isn't the actor to pull off the needed emotion. I was hoping Eddy Guerrero would Draw #1 with Chavo drawing #29. Putting Eddy in the ring for 60 minutes in Philly seems like a no brainer. Likely, With the hinted Angle heel turn, Angle will have a late entry (along his protecting his neck)... Randy Orton should draw #30. Not because that keeps him there for a maximum of like 10 minutes but it fits his persona if he was #30 and they could have him draw his # on Heat...Show him all pissy and shows it too flair and flair should just shrug as if to say "I was #3 pal and won"...and he stays "that's easy"... Randy is seen walking around making bribes. Finally he (with a couple Chicks) walks up to Test (or any other young Heel) and makes the deal.) They really just need the drawings back along with the 29 rapid promos and One long promo from John Cena (playing Hogan)

Guest Choken One Report post Posted December 31, 2003 I Loved in like 1995 how they only showed two promos (Luger and Shawn)...which REALLY told the fans about who was going over and I still think that was a great promo from Shawn. Or how in 1997...They just showed Bulldog walking outside and yelling "IM BIZZARE!"

Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 1, 2004 Benoit isn't the actor to pull off the needed emotion. I was hoping Eddy Guerrero would Draw #1 with Chavo drawing #29. Putting Eddy in the ring for 60 minutes in Philly seems like a no brainer. I agree Benoit's not the greatest actor, but I shouldn't say he can't pull it off. I predict the final four will come down to Benoit, Angle, Shitberg (if he enters), and of course Suckbag. John Cena will make a long lasting in the RR before getting eliminated. Anyway, HBK Vs. HHH should have a stipulation just to be different. Not a Street Fighter, not a Cage match, but something else since those have already been done. Holly / Lesnar could be fun with Hardcore Rules or No DQ applied. And I'm hoping Victoria / Molly makes it on the card.
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted January 1, 2004 (edited) What I want: Well, since we know that Benoit is now #1 spot for the Rumble, I want Jericho to come in at #2 or very close to the beginning of the Rumble and have him and Benoit team up to survive the Rumble. Maybe you can even show them meeting up in the hallway before the match and have them discuss old times when both of them were all about winning the heavyweight title. Man, I'd mark out for that. I'd also like to see Benoit vs the Big Show at the very end of the Rumbe. Benoit'd be exhausted after going 60 min throughout the RUmble and than when he has to go up against a fresh Big Show the odds will just simply look impossable for the crippler. Big Show would military press Benoit out of the ring and everyone will think he's won it. However Benoit would land stomach first (this might be too dangerous) on the black railing and go back into the ring on 1 foot thus not getting elimanated. The Big Show and Benoit would still battle for a while but after a bit it's obvious that it's impossable for Benoit to throw the 500pd Big Show over. What can he do? So Benoit thinks about it and decides to go for a different stragety. Put the Big Show to sleep and when he does go to sleep elimante the dead weight of the Big Show. Not only do you get the impressive feat of Benoit winning the Rumble by "throwing" 500 pds of dead weight over the top rope (great visuals for replays down the road) you get the inevitable scare of Benoit being tossed out while Benoit has a standing Big Show in a sleeper. If you wanted to you can even have Benoit use some sort of new technical manuever to finish of Show. Edited January 2, 2004 by wildpegasus
cbacon 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 Does the winner even get the shot at WrestleMania this year? They've only been mentioning the title shot on Smackdown! and nothing about going to WrestleMania. Which leads me to think they may be trying to work their way around the rumoured title holder vs. title holder match at Mania and have the winner have his title shot at NWO
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted January 2, 2004 (edited) Nah, I'm sure its still winner goes to WM. If its a SD star who wins again, then there's always that obstacle to overcome at No Way Out. Edited January 2, 2004 by Rico Costantino
Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted January 2, 2004 The actual rumble will be interesting enough because we actually don't know who's going to win, and since that takes so much of the time of the show, I'd say it'll be pretty entertaining.

Not even Jeff Hardy would take that bump...why would they do that to Benoit of all people? I'd rather them just do a backdrop spot where TBS press slams Benoit and drops him onto the apron and Benoit hangs on ala Shawn and Benoit crawls back in and climbs the turnbuckle and tackles TBS into a Crossface and TBS fights it out and they do the 2000 Finish with Benoit going over first but pulling TBS over and hooking the bottom rope to stay in (only this time, No post match constroversy) I like the idea of TBS/Benoit as the Final Two...Although I'm banking WWE will go Angle/Benoit instead... Guest Markingout Report post Posted January 2, 2004 "they do the 2000 Finish with Benoit going over first but pulling TBS over and hooking the bottom rope to stay in (only this time, No post match constroversy)" I say have Benoit go over a different method. Like Big Show goes for a clothsline,TBS misses and almost throws himself over. Benoit comes and is fighting trying too throw Show over Benoit throws TBS over. Makes Benoit look better I belive
Guest wildpegasus Report post Posted January 2, 2004 Well, if Benoit does win the Rumble and gets to go to Wrestlemania against Brock they have to show training footage of Benoit and Lesnar preparing for battle. Maybe even a little documentary. This is how I'd like it to go: Benoit who is now designated as the common hard working man who has sacraficed stuff such as his family to get where he is goes back to his homeland of Alberta, Canada. He needs to be distracted from the hustle and temptations of the modern world. No cellphone, no TV, no heaters, no radio, no people, no anything. Just some dumbells, a fellow trainer, rocks, snow, wind and a cold beaten up old shack. To survive Lesnar he himself has to toughen up. He has to survive the toughest of elements -- Ice cold Canadian weather with a windshield that would make any other mere mortal cower away in fear. It's the only thing that can challenge him to be at his utmost best. Benoit does his 20 rep breathing squats out in the frigid cold, strips the weight down again and just laughs at them. He straps 20 pds to each arm and proceeds to chop for hours on end. He does his running with 14 pd boots on through 3 to 4 feet of snow only stopping for an instant to pick up rocks to than run with. He eats nothing but the purest foods. Than to top it all off, footage is shown of his mentor Bret Hart torturing Benoit in the new dungeon showing him merciless techniques that could possably defeat the baddest man on the planet. Brock Lesnar. A candid discussion is than shown between Benoit and his wife Woman. Woman -- "Before I could understand. There were reasons to fight but I don't understand this. Why? Why, Chris? Benoit -- "I just have to. The fighting spirit is too strong." Woman -- "Chris. We have a child. You have two other children that look up to you so much. What if you get hurt? You've seen what he did to your best friend Eddie. He's never going to wrestle again. He's crippled Gowan, the Undertaker and anyone else he's put his hands on. You've heard what everyone's said. He's indestructable. You're gonna cripple yourself. You can't win Chris. You just can't win. **cries** Benoit -- "You married a fighter. I can't help it. It's what I do. Without the fight there is nothing. I may as well be nothing. Perhaps I have no chance but the one thing I know is that I'm to give it my all and to do that I know I have to look death in the eye. I'll fight to I can't fight nomore. But in doing that the thing the thing Lesnar has to realise is that he himself will have to be willing to die. I won't kid you. I don't know what'll happen Nancy. I'm sorry. **Benoit leaves to go on his skidoo all the time thinking about his past memories. Seeing Dynamite wrestle for the first time, Dynamite giving him his wrestling boots, winning the IWGP Jr. title, winning the ECW tag straps, Lesnar destroying Eddie's career and so on.** **The Doucumentary ends with Benoit climbing up a freezing cold mountain where at the very top he stretches his arms out and hollers at the top of his lungs..."Broooooooock"
