Superstring 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 WWE has announced that fans in the UK will be able to purchase this months Royal Rumble PPV. Royal Rumble is live on January 25th. The PPV will not air on its usual channel; it will be shown on Sky Digital’s Setanta Sports channel, which is channel 435. Prowrestling.com ------- Its a crappy source but worth posting it if it turns out to be true. Its a freeview channel I think which means anyone with a digital box should be able to watch, which would kick ass. Don't take that as fact though I'm just going by what I'm seeing when I look em up on the net.

Guest reshad974 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 the main reason WWE is trying to renegociate its deal with Sky : Wrestlemania XX and all the potential money they would loose if it were aired for free.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 4, 2004 I hope this turns out to be true (though it seems strange - why don't they just have it on Sky Box Office as usual?) because Rumble and WM are the only two PPVs that I always seem to look forward to, regardless of how shit they might look on paper. WWE is kidding themselves if they think that they can make a huge profit in the UK off WMXX.

Thousands of people are not going to pay for something they won't be able to see live. The PPVs should remain free.
clean rob 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Rubbish. Thousands of people are not going to pay for something they won't be able to see live. Err...the PPVs are the only things we DO get live! You're quite right though, UK fans (and it's not like there's that many) are not going to put up with paying an extortionate amount for something that we've had free up till now. WWE should quit trying to ream us for so much money, they'll only come out of it with egg on their face when half the UK fanbase goes "Fuck this" and quits watching. Unless WWE comes up with the card to end all cards I'm not buying Mania when I had it free last year. If the PPVs on Box Office were the price of say, a football match, I'd consider it. For £14.99 they can go fuck themselves.
