Guest I'm That Damn Zzzzz Report post Posted January 5, 2004 wwe.com preview Sunday Night HEAT preview for Jan. 4, 2004 Join us for the first HEAT of 2004 when Steven Richards and Test meet for the second time in the last three weeks. Richards scored the upset win the last time around, will Test get his revenge? Find out on HEAT this week! Also on HEAT, Val Venis and Lance Storm hope to continue their winning ways but will face a stiff challenge from La Resistance. The winner of this match may very well be the favorite for a shot at Ric Flair and Batista for the World Tag Team Championship – find out who that team is on HEAT. And if you’re looking for a great singles match, look no further than Tommy Dreamer against Matt Hardy. Hardy is one of the newer faces on the RAW roster and to get his shot at a Championship, beating veterans like Tommy Dreamer is a must. Watch HEAT to see if Hardy will be on the right path. Also on HEAT, Rico will be in action. HEAT will also recap the incredible events from last week’s RAW, when Booker T faced Randy Orton for the Intercontinental Championship and Shawn Michaels met Triple H for the World Heavyweight Championship, in a match that was one of the best matches of 2003 on RAW. Michaels-Triple H was not only one of the best matches of the year, but it had a stunning ending that is the talk of the sports entertainment world. Don’t miss it on HEAT! All of this and more on HEAT this Sunday at 7/6 CT on Spike TV! Spoiler: source: http://www.pwtorch.com/artman/publish/arti...icle_6554.shtml Spoiler (Highlight to Read): DARK MATCHES (1) Garrison Cade defeated Black Gordon Jr. I was told from a friend that Black Gordon Jr. is the son of a somewhat famous wrestler from the old Southern Championship Wrestling days. Cade got the instant face pop being announced from San Antonio. Cade won the singles match with a bulldog. (2) Matt Hardy version 1.0 defeated Tommy Dreamer. This was a very good matchup, and I wouldn't be surprised if it actually was being taped for Sunday Night Heat. Dreamer and Hardy began to fight over the Singapore Cane, and as Dreamer climbed the second rope to hit Hardy with the cane, Hardy successfully knocked him onto the turnbuckle. Hardy then landed a second-rope Twist Of Fate to gather the win. SUNDAY NIGHT HEAT MATCHES (1) Steven Richards (w/Victoria) defeated Test. This was a rematch from their match two weeks ago, with much of the same moves. Test is seeming to copy more and more of Scott Steiner's posing and moveset. For the finish, Test tied up Richards in the ropes, distracting the ref to untie him. Meanwhile, Victoria came in the ring as Test planted a big wet kiss on her, only to get a swift kick south of the border for his troubles. As Richards was untied, he rolled up Test and used the ropes for leverage to get the three count for the second time in two matchups. The Steven Richards push continues, and I am begging to be shot now. (2) Rico (w/Ms. Jackie) defeated Brandon Cruz (not sure on name). A very standard jobber match, with Cruz getting some decent moves in, but Rico finally landing a hangman's neckbreaker to get the pinfall in this short match. (3) La Resistance (Renee Dupree & Rob Conway) defeated Val Venis & Lance Storm. Average quality tag match, with not much going for either team. The finish happened as Dupree tripped up Storm coming off the ropes to allow Conway to land a spike-style DDT to get the win.
Jack_Bauer 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Spoiler (Highlight to Read): The event actually looks like a lot of dire pish. I think they are going out of their way to make sure Heat and Velocity don't beat Smackdown and RAW. I mean come on, Rico over a WWF Prime Time style jobber ? She's dumb and she ALWAYS gets kidnapped. I think she has a deathwish. I think you should give her the wish, I REPEAT, I think you should give her the wish" While I'm here, that's the LAST time I gimmick post ANYWHERE outside of Hardcore. Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted January 5, 2004 You know... if they gave some random rookie sensation "Smoke on the Water" by Deep Purple as their theme music they'd get over real quick. Sure... the people would just be popping for the music, but it's better than nothing.

Brocklock 0 Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Is Dreamer's ring attire smaller or did he get bigger? He was sporting a big gut tonight, even bigger than usual. That might be since it seems like he hasn't been on tv since July.

Guest Ghettoman Report post Posted January 5, 2004 Eh, seems Triple H/HBK was a bit overrated, **** for what was just a hot crowd and the spots that needed to get over getting over, I don't know about that. The twists and turns were nice from the usual match formulas, but not exactly that great. Still fun to see a crowd so into something and actually not guessing everything that happens.
