Tom Cruise Interested In Iron Man Lead Role?

 

Could the star play Iron Man in the next Marvel film?

 

Empire Online is reporting that Tom Cruise is still interested in starring in the upcoming film version of Marvel Comics' Iron Man.

 

Cruise had stated the following about the Iron Man character: "He's a fascinating character, but we've got to figure out how it's going to work. And everyone is doing a Marvel character these days. How do we make that new, create something fresh where it doesn't feel like: 'Oh, here comes another superhero story?'"

Same here. Everyone hates on Crusie, but in realitiy, he's a very good actor who plays his roles very more.

He's a good solid character actor.

I think Cruise is a good actor to. And something about him just makes me think he'd play a great Tony Stark.

I was impressed with Cruise work in The Last Samurai.

 

I think the only movie I didn't like him in was Jerry McGuire

This would fall into his range pretty easily so I won't complain.

I like him, but it just says Cruise would want to play him, just like a lot of people probably do.

Every character he has played has been very similar. He needs to widen his roles a bit.

So the plot will be...Iron Man will be a hero...a pretty good super hero too. But he'll have a sudden lack of confidence and a beautiful woman will help him through it.

Hey, isn't he still attached to that Doom's IV project that Rob Liefeld had so many years ago?

 

Anyways, it's easy to make it a different superhero story - just follow the basic plotline and throw in a version of the Armour Wars and you're set.

 

And I just need to get this off of my chest. They might be a bit old for the role, but Delroy Lindo or Avery Brooks would be badass as James Rhodes.
