At best, a major business slump will get Vince to change things around as he did in the late '90s.

At worst, we'll get Billionare Jerry's Wrasslin' Warroom.

As craptascular as wwe has been, it's still leaps and bounds ahead of everyone else.

Aside from the size of its fanbase, star power, and production values, RoH has WWE smoked.

an average rating for an average show.

Look, back when the product was good (and I mean *good*, as these days when a WWE show inches up past mediocre, people somehow think its good. i think people forgot how good RAW could be, a few weeks ago I popped in a tape of some random RAW from 2000... kept my attention much more than the current product)... back when the product was good, they drew good ratings even during MNF. and back when Survivor and Friends were going nuts against each other on the SD front.

I think Test's boot on Victoria killed the second hour. Otherwise we would have had a dogfight between Molly and Victoria, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon without wires, instead of Molly and Trish-again!

It's pleasing because it shows that a weak product gets weak ratings.

Exactly. I hope this will serve as a wake up call to Vince and Co. that just because their stiffest Competition,MNF, Is over doesn't mean he can put on complete garbage and the fans will watch It simply because there Is nothing better on. Then again, If he didn't realize It the previous 3 years...

I don't know what has happen to McMahon....I hate to say this..but it seems like he just doesn't give a damn anymore..

Through 97 - late 2000 he was on top of the world...when 2001 came he had the biggest flop(the XFL)...ratings started to plummet...buyrates began to drop....the creative team had lost all common since...all happening in a short time span......Your product was a mainstream product just a few months ago...not years ago..but a few months ago...then suddenly everything is gone....

Aside from three major factors, ROH does beat the WWE. It beats it on in ring ability...err...in-ring matches...and...there's CM Punk, he's kewl.

The better fanbase will give WWE more money. The star power means more people will be interested when something actually goes right. And production values make the shows look better. They're all big factors. ROH is great and all, but without those three things they're nowhere NEAR the WWE unfortunately.

Then again, according to 'Patrick', it seems the WWE is about to die after a 3.5 rating...so there's hope yet.

Ratings don't mean shit, WWE should worry about their ppv buyrates and their house show profits, that's their bread and butter of their company.Instead of trying to please that casual "fan" with outlandish storylines and no talented rookies every week, Vince should worry about keeping their die hard fans that are still paying to watch their shows, or buying the dvds with their hard earned money because w/o us he won't have any ratings or company to think about.

I never really understood the whole "as soon as MNF is over, the ratings will improve" mentality. Wrestling fans will watch wrestling, regardless of it being football season or not (unless it's a team that they root for playing in the MNF game) and it's not like every football fan will all of a sudden say: "hey, the season's over, we can watch wrestling again!".

I'll only speak for myself, but I watched MNF for most of the season (and hockey games once that season started) and now that it's over, I'll watch hockey pretty much every Monday night. Watching wrestling isn't even a thought anymore ... and I doubt that I'm the only one.

Moral of the story: MNF being over does NOT automatically equal increased Raw ratings.

The ratings are only part of the story. WWE has stopped the bleeding. For the most part, the TV ratings are holding steady and PPV buys have been pretty good lately, except for Armageddon. The numbers have held steady for the past six months, compared to the year prior where they were dropping at an alarming rate. Obviously, they've done something right in the last six months.

Lets look at the big picture...

If you have good ratings...that translates into a good buyrate...which then means you are doing so well...that house shows should be sell outs....Each has a certain importance....but it all starts on the T.V. screen...

If the T.V. shows are not doing so well...you can kiss a good PPV buyrate goodbye...

Hardcore fans are going to watch the show regardless(in some situations)....and of course they will buy the PPVs....the hardcore viewer equals the 2s, and 3's in ratings...with sometimes a good buyrate here and there....THAT'S NOT GROWTH...you are holding up...but you are not growing....now you see why they rose the PPV purchases...

So they have to be creative and get new fans to watch the shows...but you can't do that with the current creative team...and all the "YES" men surrounding Vince McMahon.....

NEW FANS or CASUAL VIEWERS = CASH
