B. Brian Brunzell Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I have to go with Miles. he re-invented and changed the face of Jazz with Bitches Brew. Even Kind of Blue before it was groundbreaking. I'm a fan of both, but I just have to vote Miles.
Anorak Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 Cash. Jazz is the one genre of music that just doesn't move me in any way at all, give me a classic country, soul, or rock'n'roll record any day of the week.
Guest BrokenWings Posted January 9, 2004 Report Posted January 9, 2004 I've never actually met a serious Johnny Cash fan. It's so hip to like Johnny Cash. You don't have to really like country to appreciate him, while enjoying Miles Davis requires that you actually like jazz (in its many forms, too). I suppose if Davis--had he lived long enough--covered Nine Inch Nails or Soundgarden, I'd be singing a different tune. Agreed. My vote goes to Cash.
Guest cobainwasmurdered Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Cash is winning. I was right. Banky was wrong. *waits for Banky to make excuses.*
Guest The Winter Of My Discontent Posted January 10, 2004 Report Posted January 10, 2004 Cash is winning. I was right. Banky was wrong. *waits for Banky to make excuses.* My excuse is that you are all fucking idiots. *waits for Cash's martryized death march to stop* Talk to me in a few months
PsychoDriver Posted January 11, 2004 Report Posted January 11, 2004 I gotta go with Davis.... I respect Cash but I never really clicked with his music for some reason and I'm not going pretend I did just because he has recently passed away.
