MillenniumMan831 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 Seriously though, how many people at the time knew that? About 5/10% of the total Mania audience...at most. We all know Vinnie likes to bend the truth a little. And Steve Allen with the Bolsheviks...meh, I got a laugh out of it. Not exactly a classic moment though. 'I get no kick from Ukraine...' 'HEY! DAT'S NOT THA RUSSIAN NATIONAL ANTHAM!' Volkoff: That not Russian National Anthem. Allen: I know it's not the Russian National Anthem What was it? Boris: You play Polish National Anthem Allen: Ha ha, send your postcards directly to him folks. But, I preferred his skit with Rhythm & Blues. Valentine: Cause we're on our way to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Allen: Great, I'll call ahead and warn them you're coming. I even enjoyed his hokey commentary during Rude/Snuka. What can I say, I'm easily entertained.
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 But Steele's interference didn't keep Savage down. Steamboat actually won the match for himself thanks more to the misstep of Savage than the shove. Maybe Steele's shove off the top rope softened up Savage's back.....which ,in turn, caused him to not be able to fully pick up Steamboat for the slam and opened him up for the small package by Steamboat. Savage clutches for his back just as he's going to scoop up Ricky for the bodyslam. So Steele's interference more than indirectly led to Savage's loss. Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted January 14, 2004 #7 is probably a lock. If I had to choose something else, though, it would be either Brock's botched SSP or Austin defeating HBK. When the best moments are Hogan stealing Bret's title and "WM:Roman-style!", you know that's the worst WM.
Guest JMA Report post Posted January 14, 2004 There are two reasons I see for Steele interfering. 1: Savage himself was a known rulebreaker and was getting his "just deserts." Or... 2: It was to keep his heat for when he turned babyface.
