Can't wait to see how Iron Mike Sharpe fares on ppv.

He'll either be the first out or pull a Conquistador '88. I haven't decided. (looks at his team) Eh...

Conquistador '88? Should I even ask?

I am *loving* how vicious Orndorff is... he never should have been turned face in the WWF, even though the subsequent heel turn was a thing of beauty.

::sighs:: how I long for those days, wrestling wise...

Conquistador '88 refers to the Conquistadors ending up in the final fall of the 20 man tag, in case you were wondering.

And to chime the last portion, they were the only jobbers besides the Young Stallions. Although the Bolshiviks are argumental.

The Bolsheviks *were* a jobber team, as Zhukov was always getting pinned, and the Young Stallions, were... are the Young Stallions.

The Survivor Series event will be posted later today (1/20) and I'll do my best with the "PBP" run-down. I just need to think who should go over...

I'll have it up in a few hours. I've been backed up watching a bunch of tapes I've bought from various people.

Edit: 4 matches down, 3 to go. (Ugh...)

(Advantage: Tied 1-1)

Headlock applied by Studd followed into a bear-hug. Hercules fades but keeps the arm up after two times and bites the face of Studd. Hercules with a series of elbows and rights followed by a clothesline, sending Studd into the ropes. Studd bounces off the ropes and Hercules scoops him up for a slam!!! 1...2....3! Hercules survives at 18:53!! *1/2 For a decent match but nothing great for a pre-PPV Match.

SOLE SURVIVOR: Hercules

- The Blue Blazer, Sam Houston, Jim Powers, Paul Roma vs. "The Natural" Butch Reed, "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff, Nikolai Volkoff, Boris Zhukov:

Sam Houston is noticably still injured from the serious beating Paul Orndorff gave him at the recent Primetime Wrestlings Survivor Series Showdown, so it's not hard to understand Orndorff attacks him before the bell. Orndorff with a series of stiff forearms across the back of the head of Houston followed by a full scoop slam. Elbow drop connects for a two count. Orndorff shoves Houston chest first into the turnbuckle and connects with a knee lift to the kidneys on the rebound. Irish whip to the ropes and Houston collapses to the canvas. Orndorff goes back on the attack and stomps away at the back of Houston. He scoops Houston off the canvas, sets him between his legs and connects with the jumping piledriver for three at 1:56.

(Advantage: Butch Reed, Paul Orndorff, The Bolsheviks 4-3)

Blue Blazer comes in quick with a standing dropkick to the back of Orndorff, sending him into the corner, tagging in Volkoff. Blazer still has a bone to pick with the Bolsheviks from a few weeks ago. Blazer catches Volkoff with a series of arm drags followed into an armbar. Tag to Roma and he comes off the top rope with a axe-handle across the arm of Volkoff and re-applies the hold. Another quick tag to Powers and he does more of the same and slams the big russian. Blue Blazer tags in to try and give his team the advantage again and hammers on Reed with some european uppercuts. Snapmare out of the corner and he connects with a dropkick to the back for a two count. Blazer bounces off the ropes and connects with a diving back elbow for another two count. Blazer hammers on Reed some more and goes to the top rope, coonecting with a flying clothesline for two again. Blazer back up to the third floor for a cross body, but Reed turns it into a powerslam in mid-air, and that get three at 12:02.

(Advantage: Butch Reed & Paul Orndorff 2-1)

Roma is left by himself to take on two top players. Orndorff casually tags in and smack talks Roma. Lockup into the corner and....a clean break!? They lockup again, and again end up in the corner, and Orndorff tries a cheap shot but Roma blocks and nails a series of roundhouse rights followed by a beautiful standing dropkick for two. Orndorff walks into a series of arm drags and Roma with a dropkick to Butch Reed followed by a slam. Clothesline sends Reed out, but from behind is Orndorff and he catches Roma turning around with a clothesline for two. Irish whip and Orndorff drops Roma neck first across the top rope. Orndorff stomps the back of the head of Roma and scoops him up, connecting with a jumping piledriver for the 1...2...3 at 15:33 to have him and Reed survive. **3/4, good fast-paced match, but was missing something and fallos below the very good rating standard.

SURVIVOR(S): "The Natural" Butch Reed & "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff

- The Ultimate Warrior, "Rowdy" Roddy Piper, "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan, "Rugged" Ronnie Garvin vs. Andre The Giant, "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase, Honky Tonk Man, Haku:

Everyone of course gets seperate entrances on the babyface side, so it means they are cleaning house or can't function well as a team. Piper and Haku start the match. Lockup and Haku with a side headlock. Irish whip to the ropes and Piper puts Haku down with a clothesline. Scoop slam by Piper gets a two count. Piper chokes Haku down to the canvas and connects wih an elbow drop. More choking by Hot Rod and the referee forces the break. Honky Tonk Man pokes Duggan in the eyes and sends him into the corner. HTM distracts the referee while Andre chokes Duggan out with the tag rope. (Advantage: Andre The Giant, Ted Dibiase, Honky Tonk Man 3-2)

Roddy Piper in now and he hammers away on Honky Tonk Man like a mad man. Piper continues hammering away on Honky Tonk Man and he backs into his corner, and tags in Andre The Giant for the first time in the match. Piper tries his best to take the big man down but Andre simply KILLS him with headbutts, dropping him into the corner where he continues the assault with those BUTT drops. Let's hope he's not sick. Andre picks Piper off the canvas and plants him with the most horrible double underhook suplex I have ever seen, but it's still enough for three at 11:24.

(Advantage: Andre The Giant, Ted Dibiase, Honky Tonk Man 3-1)

Honky Tonk Man comes back in and for the first time Warrior's in the match. Honky Tonk Man works on Warrior with rights and lefts but Warrior just gets lost in space. Gorilla Press Slam and Splash later ends Honky Tonk Mans night at 12:13.

(Advantage: Andre The Giant & Ted Dibiase 2-1)

Running clothesline from Warrior to Andre puts the big man down for a two count. Warrior tries running the ropes but Dibiase drives the knee into Warriors back, allowing Andre to score a slam on him. Andre off the ropes and he falls down, doing a splash, right on Warriors upper body, probably crushing his head, and Andre makes the cover for 1....2......3! Warrior is eliminated at 14:30! ***1/4 rating for a very good match. I guess this was punishment for Warrior being a complete asshole about losing the Intercontinental Title to Bad News Brown a few weeks ago.

SURVIVOR(S): Andre The Giant & "Million Dollar Man" Ted Dibiase

Valentine attempts a suplx but Martel busts loose and school boys Valentine for a shocking three count at 14:11.

(Advantage: Bret Hart & Rick Martel 2-1)

Bret & Martel double team on Rougeau in their corner for a good portion of time. Bret runs throug his five moves of doom again and this time The Sharpshooter is hooked, forcing a submission out of Rougeau at 18:42 to give the team of Bret & Martel a nice little victory. ***1/4 Good match, but a tad boring now and then but nothing major thanks to good work from Strike Force & Hitman. Babyfaces first match going over I believe thats part of the actual PPV.

SURVIVORS: Bret "Hitman" Hart & Rick Martel

- Jake "The Snake" Roberts, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, Shawn Michaels, Marty Jannetty vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Bad News Brown, The Warlord, The Barbarian:

Bad News Brown had recently won the Intercontinental Title from the undefeated Ultimate Warrior, so he's on a hot streak I guess. Jannetty and Barbarian start the match with a lockup. They lockup, stupidly, and Barbarian shoves Michaels across the ring. Another lockup and Barbarian throws Michaels into the corner, but misses a big roundhouse right. Conference time and they lockup again. Michaels with a side headlock, and Barbarian whips him off and connects with a shoulder block. Criss cross sequence and Barbarian catches a cross body attempt. Jannetty pushes them over and Michaels lands on top for two. Jannetty with an armbar, and Michaels tags in to work the arm as well. Jannetty back in again and they work the double arm bar. (Advantage: Tied 1-1)

Lockup and Brown with a knee to the midsection followed by a short arm clothesline to the back of the head for a two count. Roberts with a series of blows to the mid-section and goes for the DDT, but Brown with a northern lights suplex breaks the attempt and plants Roberts for two. Brown with a dropkick to the back sends Roberts into the turnbuckle face first. Brown pulls Roberts out of the corner and nails the Ghetto Blaster for the final elimination at 17:49. *** For another good match, and was quite refreshing seeing the heels come from behind to get the win but not without a teased babyface comeback.

SOLE SURVIVOR: Bad News Brown

- Hulk Hogan, "Macho Man" Randy Savage, Demoliton Ax & Smash vs. The Big Bossman, Akeem, Arn Anderson, Tully Blanchard:

Introductions here take forever as everyone get seperate entrances, eating up about five minutes of air time. Both teams have a little chat before the match to see who starts the match out. Irish whip by Hogan and he connects with a big boot, followed by a scoop slam. Hogan plays to the crowd, bounces off the ropes and connects with the atomic leg drop for three at 7:21 to even up the sides.

(Advantage: Tied 3-3)

Anderson attacks Hogan from behind with a double axe-handle and slams him down hard. Anderson connects with an elbow drop and tags in the Bossman who serves Hogan some stiff kicks. Irish whip to the corner by Bossman but he misses an avalanch and Hogan tags in Smash of Demolition. Smash connects with roundhouse rights and connects with a series of clotheslines, rocking the big man. Smash with a scoop slam to a major pop, but it only gets a two count when it means something. Smash goes for another slam but his back gives out, allowing Bossman to connect with a clothesline. Irish whip and Bossman connects with a big boot for two. Smash tries fighting back with rights but a rake of the eyes stops him. Short arm Irish whip and Bossman plants Smash with the sidewalk slam. tag to Akeem for the first time and he quickly finishes Smash off with the Air Africa Splash for three at 13:28.

(Advantage: Twin Towers & Arn Anderson 3-2)

Hogan tags in with a series of roundhouse rights and he whips Akeem into the corner, following up with a clothesline and modified bulldog for two. Hogan boots Akeem in the midsection several times and goes for a slam, but Akeem is too fat. Akeem clubs away over the hunched Hogan and plants him with sledges. BUTT splash by Akeem puts Hogan down on the canvas and Anderson tags back in. Anderson with a full bodyslam followed by a fist drop for two. Reverse chinlock applied by Anderson. Hogan hulks to his feet and battles out with a series of elbows to the midsection, but Anderson catches him off the ropes with a spine buster to put him down, only for a two count. Hogan hulk up again and goes through the usual and leg drops Anderson. Tag to Savage who mounts the top rope and connects with the flying elbow drop for three count at 18:51.

(Advantage: Tied 2-2)

Bossman comes in and pounds on Savage with forearms and catches Savage with an atomic drop followed by a clothesline for two. Bossman whips Savage to the corner, but eats boot on the way in and Savage comes off the second rope with a double axe-handle. Savage hammers on Bossman and scoop slams him into the center of the ring. Hogan gets the tag in and connects with the atomic leg drop for three at 21:06.

(Advantage: Mega Powers 2-1)

Akeem catches Hogan on his way to his feet with a clothesline followed by a splash. He negelcts a cover and continues hammering on Hogan. Akeem with a snap vertical suplex for a two count. Hogan tries fighting back but Akeem rakes the eyes to stop him and connects with a scoop slam. Akeem connects with an elbow drop and covers for another two count. Akeem whips Hogan to the ropes and connects with a clothesline, putting him down. Akeem off the ropes and he connects with the Air Africa for 1...2....KICKOUT! Hogan hulks Up again! Big boot connects, but Akeem won't go down, so Hogan scoops him up for a delayed slam and tags in Savage to finish him off with a flying elbow drop at 25:17. ***1\2 for a very good match, given a good pace and some nice in-between eliminations action.

That was totally awesome, having Bad News going over in his RR match.... and as usual, the Megapowers destroyed the competition...

Damn, if I had the time to devote to learning how to play EWR, I would do a fed of my own.

JSEK, I've been tinkering with trying to make Paul Orndorff & Bad News Brown credible main eventers (either again or finally) for Savage's title, unless they piss me off.

WWF SUPERSTARS OF WRESTLING!!

DECEMBER 3, 1988 - TAPED NOVEMBER 15TH, 1988 FROM SAN FRANCISCO, CA

COMMENTARY: JESSE VENTURA & VINCE MCMAHON

(side note: Excuse the lack of original results, but I'm trying to get into the year I promised, and rather worry about doing good "Supercard Results" than squash matches)

- Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake vs. Steve Lomabardi:

Weak kick from Lomardi. Brutus Beefcake ducks a clothesline attempt. Brutus Beefcake hits a sloppy double axe handle. Brutus Beefcake scores with a crappy looking standing spinebuster. Brutus Beefcake floors Steve Lomabardi. Here it comes...Goodnight Irene! Steve Lomabardi taps! I'll give it a * rating for not being too bad. Match Time: 2:08.

- Dino Bravo vs. Reno Riggins:

Reno Riggins hits a right hand on Dino Bravo. Bravo drops out the back of a Reno Riggins bodyslam attempt. Dino Bravo hits a sloppy double axe handle. Side suplex from Bravo. Reno Riggins can barely stand. Here it comes - Side Suplex. 1....2...3, it's finished. I'll give it a * rating for not being too bad. Match Time: 1:34.

- Special Update from the Live Event Center! For those who live in the Philadelphia area, the WWF will be holding a special super-card on December 13th from the Spectrum. The Card is as followed:

No Disqualification: Everyone Barred From Ringside: Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. Andre The Giant

WWF World Title Match: Randy Savage vs. Akeem

WWF Intercontinental Title Match: Bad News Brown issuing an Open Challenge.

The Rockers vs. The Brain Busters

Brutus Beefcake vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude

Paul Roma of the Young Stallions vs. Mr. Perfect

Revenge Match: Sam Houston vs. "Mr. Wonderful" Paul Orndorff

(card subject to change incase of injuries, terminations or any other means of inactivity)

- "Ravishing" Rick Rude vs. "Jumping" Jim Brunzell:

Brunzell gets slammed. Stiff chop lights up Brunzell. Rude hits a right hand. There's a two count on the pin. Back elbow connects, Brunzell staggers backward. There's a two count on the pin. Rude drops an elbow...but misses. Fate can be so cruel. Jim Brunzell hits a right hand on Ravishing Rick Rude. Cover for a two count. Jim Brunzell DDTs Rude, although it was hardly executed with pin-point precision. Ravishing Rick Rude pulls a mule kick out of nowhere. Lifting DDT by Ravishing Rick Rude, looked good. Ravishing Rick Rude moves in for the kill. Here it comes - Rude Awakening. 1....2...3, it's finished. *** rating, as it was good, but nothing too special. Match Time: 4:25

- Special Survivor Series Report. Stilled Photos from the event are shown highlighting several of the matches including the Main Event where The Mega Powers (Hulk Hogan & Randy Savage) were the Survivors. Also Bad News Brown put on a great showing, last eliminating Jake Roberts in his match, as well as Paul Orndorff & Butch Reed winning with some-what ease. In an odd bit of action, the Ultimate Warrior was pinned for the second time in only a few weeks when Andre The Giant and Ted Dibiase walked away the winners of their respetive match.

- Hart Foundation vs. "Iron" Mike Sharpe & Barry Horowitz:

Sharpe takes a headbutt from Bret Hart. Flying shoulder tackle by The Hitman sends Sharpe to the mat. Powerbomb on Sharpe. Tag between Iron Mike Sharpe and Barry Horowitz. Barry Horowitz strikes Bret Hart. Horowitz only gets knees on a splash. Stiff chop lights up Horowitz. Tag to Jim Neidhart. Hart Foundation whip Horowitz into the ropes and hit a double backdrop. Big piledriver on Horowitz. Jim Neidhart scores with a big spinebuster. Tag between Jim Neidhart and Bret Hart. Barry Horowitz is in big trouble...Hart Attack!! 1....2....3! I'll give it a **1\2 rating. Match Time: 2:16

- Time for the 1st EVER WWF Royal Rumble PPV Report! As of now, the only match that has been announced is the Royal Rumble Match itself! At the last years' edition, only 20 men competed in the extravaganza. This year, not only will the Rumble include an unpresidented THRITY MEN, but the winner of the match will earn the right to face the World Wrestling Federation Champion. The only exception of the rule is if Randy Savage enters the match as the Champion and wins the match. More updates coming up in the following weeks!

- Akeem vs. Jim Powers:

Uninspiring brawling from Akeem. Weak bodyslam on Powers by Akeem. Big clothesline from Akeem. Akeem DDTs Jim Powers. Akeem moves in for the kill. Big Splash!!! That shook the ring. 1....2....3!! *1\2 rating for a decent contest. Match Time: 1:22.

Bad News issuing an open challenge in Philly of all places? I'd advise against that if I were him.

Good stuff as always.

Maybe a title change in Philadelphia? ;) ;)

Maybe the hometown hero will finally get what he disserved... ;)

Or It'll be someone like Brian Blair to get squashed in 2:00.

Akeem's brawl stat is only at 58 right now. Time to build that up I guess. (hires abdullah The butcher)

You mind if I ask where you got this scenario, BBCW?

I don't really remember, since it's an old 2.0 version. If I found a 4.0 one I'd be happy, but I never did.

Rigor mortis is setting in with this diary...

Not really, I just burned myself out doing a whole month of stuff in about a week, so I'm trying to get a new feel to things before continuing.
