Cartman 0 Report post Posted January 13, 2004 So my girl likes to play video games, as do I, and she went out and bought me a second PS2 controller so we can play together. Problem is I only really play Sports and RPG's. Suggest some Multiplayer PS2 games I should get for the two of us to play.

USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 To be honest, Cartman, Cube's better for the man/woman gameplay. PS2 either has too manly games or nothing you would want to play... at least that I would. Maybe the puzzle games razateca said.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Yea I was thinking that too...maybe it's time I just go drop the 100 bucks on a Cube...
USC Wuz Robbed! 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Go for it. I have a PS2 strictly for my own pleasure (my wife won't touch it even if she wanted to) and I got a Cube for her to play with since it has a more family-friendly games.
Renegade 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Rent out marvel vs capcom 2. Always impressive at first sight. For any serious 1vs1 play go for Capocm vs SNK2. Also this just might be me but when I played with my girlfriend she tended to go for games with co-ops. I suggest the following: Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven Contra Shattered soldier (you'll be crying together on this one) Any of the smackdowns First person shooter co-ops, too many to mention. And if you happen to be able to import any game get metal slug 3. As people have said the cube is the party console.
Anya 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo! It's a really cute puzzle game. Nobody can resist it.

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Mortal Kombat, Tekken, SF--or not. I take it you're not dating some one like Sakura? Puzzle games are a good bet. And If it wasn't PS2, I'd say Mario Kart because everyone loves that game. =/ Good luck finding that. SPF2T I mean.. Now, if you had a Cube, you could play the GBA game on the Game Boy Player...but unless you'd play other games it would be cheaper to track down the PS version. There's FFX-2 I suppose. That could very well be playable two player somehow (Final Fantasy VI was in battles), but I wouldn't know. Super Smash--damnit. If she has an even slight interest in sports, NBA Jam works because you can play coop with her, or you can play competitive. If she isn't very good, play competitive and put on the CPU Handicap. "And if you happen to be able to import any game get metal slug 3." If not, there's Metal Slug X. One of my favorite games eva.
Cartman 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 WHich would be better NBA Jam or NBA Street 2? She loves sports, but shes not real good at the games(I whoop her ass all the time). I will probably pick up Sould Caliber 2... As for SD: HCTP...Well...shes not a wrestling fan at all, and i'm just waiting til next year's SD game for a more "fine tuned" version. Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Twisted Metal Black is kind of old, but it is a good multiplayer game. I believe their is a co-op mode in Return of the King too, but I have only played single player so I can't comment on how good it is.

Is it anything like Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance? I have play BG before and it's just like Diablo but it's 2 player co-op.
Kahran Ramsus 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 I haven't played Baldur's Gate. ROTK is a hack 'em slash 'em beat 'em up type game.

kkktookmybabyaway 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 My better half and I played on the PS2 Gauntlet Dark Legacy when we first got the console. I'm trying to get her to play Hot Shots 3, and we're currently playing (after a year or so away from it) Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance...

AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 WHich would be better NBA Jam or NBA Street 2? I'm not really sure. I could enjoy playing the old 16-bit games with friends even if they weren't really gamers. Even my sister could get into it. As for the current editions, I'm not sure. She loves sports, but shes not real good at the games(I whoop her ass all the time). Well, an arcade-style game like Jam (/Street?) shouldn't be any problem to pick up and play. I will probably pick up Sould Caliber 2... Yeah, then you both could button mash away. (likes Soul Calibur, but doesn't see the big friggin' deal people make over the games). As for SD: HCTP...Well...shes not a wrestling fan at all, and i'm just waiting til next year's SD game for a more "fine tuned" version. Smart idea. HCTP's follow up could use a hell of a lot of "fine tuning." Someone like Sakura? What??? Everyone should like MK and Tekken! Well, I'm just pretend you mean fighting games in general... Although, I must confess it's demoralizing to play, say, MK and get completely destroyed by a female stranger, then have a fatality performed on you. In my defense, she was Asian. Take a look at the rankings charts for those fighting game tournaments--there's a large proportion of Asian dudes there.
Rendclaw 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance is a great co-op game, better than Gauntlet Dark Legacy IMO. My gf and I enjoy playing BG a lot more than GDL, which should have been better than it was... I like that the game is long, but dammit man, there is such a thing as TOO long. I admit to being a shill for BG, but until Universal pulled the plans to make D&D Heroes for the PS2, BG stays my #1 co-op game. and only 8 days until my copy of BGDA2 arrives.. Cartman 0 Report post Posted January 14, 2004 You gotta update me on BGDA2 when u get into it. I'm gonna go ahead and pick up BGDA tomorrow as i'm sure I can get my girl into that game. Thank you ALL for suggestions, and keep em' comin' anyways
