Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 The other day I was having my car serviced, so I figured a great way to pass the time at home would be to re-live some old school WCW moments by watching the PPV's I ordered back in 1999. I came across Souled Out 1999, a show that took place after the dreaded finger poke of doom angle and was the battleground for Goldberg to seek revenge on the man who cost him his World Title at Starrcade '98, Scott Hall. Maybe time has been kind to this match because, frankly, I was exceptionally entertained, thanks mainly to Scott Hall's willingness to bump like a crazy man for a guy he apparently didn't get along with. Without doubt, the match doesn't even touch the classic epics first seen in McMahon-land, however the drama and plain fun of the match was undeniable for me. Thoughts/opinions/star ratings on the match?
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 I'm a big fan of Scotty's, but for the life of me, I cannot remember anything about this match, even though I know I watched that PPV. Know anywhere to download it?
Guest ManKinnd Report post Posted January 15, 2004 It's terribly basic and they botch a few things, but as a whole it was somewhat acceptable, no higher than ** though.
Guest DR PHIL Report post Posted January 16, 2004 I'ts a decent match considering it's a goldberg/hall ladder match. But I can't stand that show, it's one of the worst EVER, and yes i've seen KOTR 95!
Tawren 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 But I can't stand that show, it's one of the worst EVER, and yes i've seen KOTR 95! Benoit/Enos and the cruiser 4 way make it way better than lots of other shitty PPVs.
Guest DR PHIL Report post Posted January 16, 2004 Another reason why I despise it. Benoit against fucking enos!!!? WTF!? I forgot about the 4-way though, still a terrible show that I have no interest in ever seeing again.
Guest Frank_Nabbit Report post Posted January 16, 2004 WCW blocked out Goldburg's bloody forehead in the post show promos

Still, nothing was botched so it was quite the entertaining spot-fest, however no-where near as awesome as it could potentially of been (see Juvi vs Rey vs Kidman at Starrcade 1998). Just John 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 I didn't care for the match or the show as a whole. The ladder match was just boring with a few botched spots. I didn't care much for the ending wither. The 4-way cruiser match was the highlight of the show, but there was so much other crap* that it was difficult to care. *"Crap" includes Lex Luger vs. Konnan, Loser wears a dress match, and the 30-minute whipping of David Flair. Guest DR PHIL Report post Posted January 18, 2004 The whipping was the highlight of the show for me. I couldn't stop laughing, I hate david flair.
Just John 0 Report post Posted January 18, 2004 I guess you could say it was enjoyable in a Kane/Shane sorta way. So bad it's funny.

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted January 21, 2004 Goldberg should have never been in a Ladder Match. Scott Hall did his damndest to carry that match but it just couldn't be done. I can still watch the match as the biggest Scott Hall fan ever but there ya go.
