Someone should be able to answer this, because it's sure as hell confusing me. Maybe Barnett, since he's a lawyer. Whoever, though, feel free to enlighten me, as I'm confused how - according to 3PW's latest PR, Stevie Richards' appearance won't be on the video of their upcoming show since he's a WWE contracted wrestler, yet Al Snow, Jerry Lawler, Tommy Dreamer, etc. can appear on indy tapes from JAPW and ROH no problem. It makes like no sense, at least to me...

I know Lawler and Snow can because its a clause on there contract as announcers they can appear on tapes of smaller promotion without big TV deals. Dreamer wasnt a wrestling situation. Maybe Richards will be. Or it will be a long segment. All of Dreamers in ROH were about 10 minutes or less. Maybe we have too wait until the show. Thats all I can think of. That is a good question though.

Yeah, but then what about Jamal? He's on RAW or HeAT every week, yet is booked for WXW's (Afa's promotion) upcoming show, which has a weekly TV show. I don't know for sure, but I imagine they'd be airing his match, and even if they didn't, he's still wrestling on their show, despite having a regular role on WWE TV. And Batista worked a show awhile back for what may've been WXW or may've been another promotion...I forget, but he worked a non-OVW indy match shortly after joining WWE.

The mystery deepens, LOL

I'm almost 100% sure its because 3PW has a distribution deal that puts their video releases in stores like Suncoast and FYE. Because of this, they are considered "competition" to the WWE, and the WWE contracts prevent Stevie from appearing. It's similar to Lawler not being able to appear on MLW TV.

JAPW, ROH and other shows don't fall under these rules because they are "underground" promotions with no national Television or Video Distribution deals.

WXW doesn't have NATIONAL Television clearance, so they don't fall under the rules, IIRC

MLW has a regional deal with very few people outside of FL getting it. I think its mainly because of the fact that they get there tapes and DVDs in stores.

Jamal got released by the WWE; Rosey is the one still employed.

Sunshine Network is carried by enough satellite companies to count MLW as a national company, at least in WWE's eyes. This was the reason Lawler was pulled from War Games.

IIRC= If I Remember Correctly

That's a good point. Plus, with the exception of Jamal, Vince and Co have a good relationship with Afa and the Wild Samoan family. Still, I bet if WXW had national TV coverage, WWE would scale down their affiliation.

But he still fought Terry Funk on MLW Underground TV - Wargames or not, Jerry "The King" Lawler appeared on MLW TV in a wrestling role
