Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 21, 2004 So...is this Kazaa...good? I was told not to install Kazaa on my new PC because it can fuck with stuff...but should this be safe? I'm sure that's just referring to the full kazaa which has adware attached. Kazaa Lite never had any of that garbage.
The Metal Maniac 0 Report post Posted January 21, 2004 Yeah, I meant the adware stuff. Ok, cool. Thanks guys.
Guest Krazy Karter Report post Posted January 21, 2004 (edited) I also suggest once you have it running to go Tools-Bad IP Updater, check the "update from Peerguardian" box and click "Check Updates". This will update Kazaa's list of servers to block that are known to distribute corrupted files on behalf of the RIAA. You know, the files with the hissy/garbage noise after 30 seconds or so. Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 PeerGuardian has often been junky for me. It's blocked me from perfectly good IP addresses before. Frankly, I don't even understand why PeerGuardian would be necessary for Kazaa. Just don't share the music you download and you're fine. The RIAA is only collecting IPs of accounts sharing dozens or hundreds of songs.
