Royal Rumble Webcast

I am thinking about buying the ppv from wwe.com on my computer. I am just curious as to how good the quality of the picture and audio is on the computer. I am also interested in how long is the delay? Is the quality of everything as good as watching it on tv? Thanks for the info.

My computer is shit, but I have DSL connection. That being said, I watched Armageddon on my computer, full screen, and it was fantastic.

It was like, not as good as DVD quality, but I would say DIVX quality for sure.

I didn't have any delay the whole night.

I use sucky dial-up and found that the webcast looked a lot better than I thought it would....I don't know if it's much different with something high-speed or not.

As you would expect, TV > webcast......but the webcast is fine too IMO.

There is a delay....I believe the actual TV broadcast is like a few seconds ahead of the webcast.

Yup. Someone told me a match result from Bad Blood before the match ended on the Webcast. I was behind by s good 20-30 seconds I guess.

That's right, but those seconds count when you are posting on here. I've learned that you can't watch the PPV and refresh say, the OAO thread here, as you will see the guys who have it on TV is predicting the future.

Like it's at the end of a match, and you refresh, you can see someone go "OMG I can't believe he won!" and then you'll see it happen a few seconds later. I remember watching the Rumble last year on the webcast, and I kept refreshing the OAO page, and I kept seeing people shouting out who is next into the Rumble, and then I'd see it happen.

That's the only downside, I learned to only refresh every once in a while, so I don't get spoiled.

With a streaming webcast, nothing is downloaded to your computer.

Hence, no space, unless you've got some kind of program that downloads streaming webcasts to your computer.

At that point, it would depend on the file quality, and I couldn't begin to put a ballpark number on it.

I've never ordered a webcast before so I'm wondering, if order the live showing, do I get to have it for future watching the rest of the night? (I'm gonna be gone during the live showing and since I'm at college, this is my only way to watch it.) I'd really like to watch it tonight so I need a non-live way of doing this. Thanks for the help in advance.

no, a screen that says "thanks for ordering" pops up after the live show, then the link goes dead

Aw shoot. Well, thanks for the help. I'll just wait for the Video On-Demand version to come out.

Are you sure about that? When I bought WMXIX online, I could watch the show for a week. I hope I'm right, cause I won't be able to watch it live tonight either, and I've already bought it...

Straight from the shopzone website...

Can I view the Video-On-Demand broadcast after the Live Event with the same purchase?

Buying the event allows you to not only see the Live Event but also allows you to access the Video-On-Demand event for one week after the event (the following Sunday). This feature is a value-added benefit for online viewers, as we do not want our fans to miss a single moment of exciting WWE action!
