I was hoping Billy Bob would win, but I can't complain about Bill Murray beating him.

Why did Jim Carrey take a shot at Will Ferrell when he was presenting best comedy/musical? Is he jealous of Will's popularity? Fuck him.

He was presenting best musical/comedy and he said..

"..and the winner is...ELF! oops, looks like that wasn't nominated this year"

I don't know if that's the exact quote, but it was very, very close to that.

bah...that's not a shot. People aren't even allowed to joke around without someone making a big deal anymore.

It's just silly to say that Jim Carrey is jealous of Will Farrel. He has no reason at all to be jealous of him. Jim Carrey is making 20mill a movie and Will Farrel just had his first hit film. What exactly would he be jealous of?

It doesn't seem terribly bad when reading it typed out, but Carrey just kind of came off as a jackass to me. The smirk he had on his face kind of pissed me off, I guess.

Yeah, ELF disserves **** for being a great movie. So does that awesome film called Finding Nemo. [/sarcasm]

Jim Carrey has been in countless good-great movies, and Will Ferrell is a SNL guy for life.

I'm not saying Ferrell is better than Carrey or that ELF was worth a shit. But what is the point of taking a shot at him and the film for no reason?

24 won best TV Drama which I surprised me a bit.

And as for the Office winning best Comedy, theres probably some sort of conspiracy to either drive up the carriage rate of BBC America or to spark interest in the Americanized version of the show which will suck anyway. It says something about the lack of comedy on network tv's primetime..

Right. So you don't think they were calling Jim Carrey that "In Living Color" guy when he first started making movies?

Jim Carrey was "The White Guy on In Living Color"

I dunno, IMHO The Office is one of the greatest comedies of recent times. I'm surprised it won, but it deserved it.

And yeah, the remake will suck.

A British show won? I didn't know that they were eligible for The Golden Globes.

I don't believe I get BBC America. I have over 200 channels, so it might be there somewhere. But I don't have the patience to check out every channel.

During the Eddie/Chavo video package, I turned to the Golden Globes. I caught the part when they showed Best Comedy/Musical show, and they did a little bit from the Office. It was pretty funny; even though most of the time I don't like British humor.

Jim Carrey was referencing the fact that comedies in general don't get nominated for the top honor because they're...comedies.
