Same with Affleck, I didn't think he did that bad of a job in Daredevil.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Two things. One, it seems like cheating for people to be nominated for more than one movie. Just pick one. Two, the Matrix sequels were good, just too complicated for the average moviegoer to understand. Which, yes, is a bad thing, but a different kind of bad. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 You lost me with the sentence that featured the words Matrix and good without the word not in between them.
2GOLD 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Walken was actually decent in Gigli....ok, he was kind of harsh in Jack though. The Matrix sequels weren't complicated, that WAS the problem. I got it, they didn't need to keep slapping me in the face like, "NO! YOU ARE STUPID! WE REPEAT AGAIN!" Monica Belluci's breasts should have got an Oscar nomination now that I think about it. And how did Eric Bana get away with his performance in THE HULK? He was MUCH worse than Cuba Gooding Jr.
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Matrix Revolution wasn't that confusing, it just sucked.
Mecha Mummy 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 The Razzies get more pathetic by the year. See, he's famous and he was in a bad movie, so he was a horrible actor in it! Let's nominate him! Riiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 The Matrix sequels weren't complicated, that WAS the problem. I got it, they didn't need to keep slapping me in the face like, "NO! YOU ARE STUPID! WE REPEAT AGAIN!" Nah, man, it wasn't like that. They didn't offer any explanation at all, that was the problem. They just expected you to get it with no help. The stuff that they kept slapping you in the face with, that wasn't it. Let me say this though: I like movies that are stupid and have good action scenes, so even if I'm wrong, Reloaded at least would still be good. Two, I have no emotional attatchment, so if you guys think they suck, I'm fine with it. I just happen to think they weren't so bad.
Guest El Satanico Report post Posted January 27, 2004 blah I still don't know why people act like Eric Bana was so terrible in Hulk. The reasoning I've seen makes no sense either. If his character doesn't reign in his emotions he will go off the deep end and turn into a monster. It's part of Hulk's character and it makes no sense to say he was bad because he showed lack of emotion. He wouldn't have been true to the character if he was emoting all over the place. Guest OctoberBlood Report post Posted January 28, 2004 These awards are jokes. They don't even look at actual performances for actors or actresses, they just throw in names of people who were in bad names. Onto the Matrix. Reloaded and Revolutions did suck. They werent complicated, and they were awful compared to the original.
Mole 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 This is going to turn into a Matrix movie argument. The Matrix was OVERRATED big time. Reloaded was just an awful movie. They had a crappy plot, with action taking up most of the moive. Then came the whole Ariteck thing, which was out of the blue, and it made zero sense. Revolution was awful too. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Alright guys, I didn't want to say it before, but you just missed the point. If you think it wasn't complicated, it's because you misunderstood it. I know you think you got it, but you didn't. What you understood was stupid, what you didn't understand was not, which is my point. I fault the Wachowskis for making a movie where the plot was buried under a load of bullshit, but I never said they were great movies. edit: I do not want this to turn into a Matrix argument, because I honestly don't feel like explaining my viewpoint. So don't think I want to prove everyone wrong. Just stating my opinion.

I fault the Wachowskis for making a movie where the plot was buried under a load of bullshit, but I never said they were great movies. So in other words, only you understood it and so therefore it couldn't be stupid? Come on man, just because some of us thought it was stupid doesn't mean we didn't get it. I got it, every last little blob and it it was stupid and just them trying to pretend they were smarter than they were. It wasn't complicated, it was a movie pretending it was complicated like a college student who pretends they are smart just because they are in college. I understood the plot, and it wasn't complicated. They tried hard to make it complicated and that is what pissed me off the most. And now that I think about it, I really no longer wish to talk about the series that literally shot itself in the face.
Guest Boomer Sprinklespax Report post Posted January 28, 2004 I agree with IDRM on this. There was a lot of shit going on in Reloaded especially that people just didn't get. I've had so many discussions with people at my college concerning Reloaded, and each one who said they understood it and it sucked was totally wrong about what they thought they got. They didn't get it, and that was the problem, not the possibility of the movie sucking or not sucking on its own merits, which is just opinion anyways. Now that isn't to say that there weren't those who got it and hated it, because there were and are. I'm just saying that the majority disliked it because they don't understand it. For the record, I really like Reloaded and I hate Revolutions with a passion. EDIT: I'm talking about Reloaded here. I didn't really notice a whole lot going on in Revolutions, other than the obvious, and I despised it. Maybe I'm the one who "didn't get it" with that'n. Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Either way, if they made a movie that most everyone didn't understand, that places blame on them anyway. As for what you were saying, 2Gold, I'm not the only one that got it (in fact I had to have parts of it explained to me), but I know my taste is not that different from a lot of people who say it sucks. That tends to make me think we didn't exactly view it the same way, and yes, almost everyone I've talked to about has been way off base about what they thought they were getting. edit: Well, Laz... maybe later. Guest wrestlingbs Report post Posted January 28, 2004 Complicated or not, I felt like I wasted $7.00 to see Matrix: Revolutions. And Bana was terrible in The Hulk. It wasn't the fact that he was supposed to play a very quiet, reserved person. It was the fact that he did it in such a corny, bland way.

Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted January 29, 2004 I like those kind of scenes espeically with Walken Walken's is good, but Pacino's is just Pacino gleefully overacting for 3 mins. It isn't worth a rental.
Guest TonyJaymzV1 Report post Posted January 29, 2004 The Matix movies sucked for a simple reason: Complex story, simple characters. A movie will suck balls if the characters are not wirtten well, and the characters in the Matrix sequels(The first one was great) were simple, lacked any depth, and just were plain blah. The storyline was complex, but the characters couldn't support it, so...blah. On the flipside, when you've got complex characters, simple storyline, you generally have a greta movie. Finding Nemo was the most popular movie of the year, and it was damn simple. father looking for son, the quets storyline. BUT Each main characters in Finding Nemo were more fleshed out and complex than the characters in the Matrix movies, and thus, Finding Nemo was a grand success. Oh, and I'm gonna get burnded for this but...gigli wasn't that terrible, not good at all, but defently not the worst of the year. Charlie's Angels and Marci X where the shittiest.
