Guest The Last Free Voice Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Well, the show looks okay. I guess. I'll buy anyway. I always do.
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 I usually order, but nothing looks good enough for me this week. Eh.
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 This week features one of the rare true heavyweight matches that doesn't involve a title.
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 This week features one of the rare true heavyweight matches that doesn't involve a title. What's that?
The Ghost of bps21 Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Abyss vs. Dlo. TNA doesn't do many singles matches between two heavyweights. Aside from Raven and his feuds. It's a rare time when TNA books a match between 2 guys where neither is, has been, or could be in the X division.
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Ah, I thought you were being sarcastic and talking about Callis/Watts
Michrome Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Anyone wanna give us live results? :-D
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 From EWB: Abyss won, El Lion attacked Abyss Shane vs Sabin is on right now
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 From EWB: Chris Sabin springboard all the way to the other side of the railing Then he hit his finisher. Tracy put Shane's foot on the ropes. Shane rolled Sabin up for a 2 count. He pulled the tights, all the girls cheered which is about 2 Sabin went for the future shock, reversed but Sabin rolled Shane up for the win
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 From EWB: Johnny Fairplay reacted to Tenay saying Fairplay was the assisstant to Piper by saying to Tenay never mention again. Do i smell a Piper vs Fairplay feud Fairplay is saying that he brings ratings and nothing else He announced he's going to have a segment ala Highlight Reel called Playing Fair with Johnny
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 From EWB: Gathering vs Sandman and MIKEY WHIPRECK right now Gathering wins via kendo stick
Tawren Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 From EWB: the NWA-TNA X Team did a interview. It's a 8 Man tag match. The X-Team for AAA (NOT TNA) vs Shark Boy, Chad Collyer, Matt Stryker and Eric Young.
Placebo Effect Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Goldylocks turned on Watts, leading to Callis becoming the Director of Authority thanks to a belt shot.
Michrome Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 After reading the review from Keller, it looks like we may have a contender for Worst NWA:TNA show ever.
Silence Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Groan.....Goldylocks heel turn....this will probably get as much of a crowd reaction as David Arquette's heel turn did........hardly any, because she's obviously not an important part of TNA shows.
Guest atari_junkie Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Ewwww. Mikey Whipwreck teaming with Sandman ? *Marks for Whipwreck anyways*
JoeDirt Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 1) Abyss d. D'Lo Brown (Abyss put D'Lo through a table, El Leon makes the save) 2) Sabin d. Shane to retain X-title (real good match) Fairplay interview with Tenay - he's going to have his own interview segment like Piper's Pit 3) Punk and Dinero d. Sandman and Mikey Whipwreck -Urlacher fought off Fairplay and the Redshirts 4) AAA team d. Matt Stryker, Eric Young, Shark Boy and Chad Collyer 5) Red Shirts d. 3LK to win the tag team titles -ICP interview, they beat up Gilberti and Young 6) Callis d. Watts when Goldy turned heel Next week: Abyss vs. El Leon ICP vs. Gilberti and Young
The Thread Killer Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 After reading the review from Keller, it looks like we may have a contender for Worst NWA:TNA show ever. Don't believe everything that you read. I've seen every show since December 2002 and never missed a week. They have been in a slump for quite a while now, but this was a very good show, The Main Event notwithstanding. The best thing was the PACING. The show was VERY well put together. The segments flowed into the matches, and were not bogged down by long segments. The only segment that went long was the ICP vs. Gilberti and Young segment, and the ICP are so INSANELY over in the Asylum, that nobody seemed to care. It was a very good show.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Ewww.....RED SHIRTS are champs? God the damn AMW title reign is coming so soon.
The Thread Killer Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Not for a while. The AMW vs. "The Naturals" feud was furthered tonight when they stopped AMW from helping Watts in the Main Event, and handcuffed them to the rails. So I assume this angle will keep them occupied for a few weeks at least. AMW has fought The Redshirts for the past three weeks, so I think they will give that angle a rest for a while. Meanwhile 3LK looks to be feuding with Douglas and Shane. The logical first challengers for The Redshirts are Diamond and Swinger, since they wouldn't sign the oath of loyalty to Callis and Jarrett.
Silence Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 No Brian Urlacher? He was on the show, but there wasn't a Snickers bar or a locker to smash in sight.
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 No Brian Urlacher? He was on the show, but there wasn't a Snickers bar or a locker to smash in sight. I guess if you watched the show, you'd know he presslamed Fairplay out of the ring onto the redshirts to a monster pop, right?
Guest TDinDC1112 Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 After reading the review from Keller, it looks like we may have a contender for Worst NWA:TNA show ever. I'll readily admit that TNA has been Shit lately, but not tonight. Tonight was surprisingly a very good and entertaining show.
Guest BrokenWings Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 As the other people who actually watched the show mentioned, I agree that this was a very entertaining show. The only segment which went long was ICP's as was previously mentioned, but because of the Juggalos they're crazy over, which made it seem as though it didn't run as long as it did. The matches flowed well for the most part, and I'm fine with putting the titles on the Redshirts, they'll just be transitional champions for a few weeks. Didn't Apollo and Abyss feud before in a different fed? If so, here's to hoping they can mesh well together. I wasn't, however, impressed with the AAA team. I'm not sure if it was because TNA put basically their X-Division jobbers out there, but it seemed as though the two teams clashed. And I'm not sure what the general consensus is, but I'm digging Johnny Fairplay, as long as he stays out of the ring. As for a Piper/Fairplay feud.. However, all in all, a worthwhile show, better than recent weeks. Oh yeah, and TERRY FUNK~! to team with Sandman next week!!
Corey_Lazarus Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Just sent the 1/28 Lazarush to Dames. No school today (Professional Development Day), so I did half of it last night and half of it this morning. I have but one thing to quote from last night... Goldylocks...YOU WHORE!
Guest BrokenWings Posted January 29, 2004 Report Posted January 29, 2004 Goldylocks...YOU WHORE! That was hilarious, and so unexpected!
