True or False with Eddie and Rey

Recommended Posts

From WWE.com

Statement #1:

Latino Superstars deserve more credit for the ratings success of SmackDown!.

Eddie Guerrero: I can't answer that.

Rey Mysterio: True. We've got a lot of big Hispanic communities out there. It's a big market, and they're waiting to see their people succeed, whether it's soccer, football or even wrestling now. They want to see us be on top. They want somebody to follow.

Statement #2:

Spanish-speaking competitors need to learn English to flourish in the U.S.

Eddie: True. As proud as I am of my Latino heritage and of being Mexican, I live in America and I'm an American citizen, so I gotta speak the language.

Rey: True. Dominating more than one language is good, and it's much better than only speaking your own language. For Hispanics, being able to speak English is an advantage, whether it's in wrestling or any other particular kind of job.

Statement #3:

Eddie Guerrero will win the WWE Championship in 2004.

Eddie: Anything is possible. I believe that I am ready at this point in my life. All I can do is take it one day at a time, and step by step. I mean, you never know man.

Rey: True. He has a lot of potential and he's a Superstar caliber wrestler in my heart and my mind.

Statement #4:

Chicago crowds are the liveliest.

Eddie: Can't say if that's true or not, but they're awesome. There's a lot of lively crowds, and Chicago is definitely one of them.

Rey: I'm not gonna say true and I'm not gonna say false. Chicago is one of the best crowds we have, but we have many, many of those.

Statement #5:

The ability to speak on the microphone is more important than being a good wrestler.

Eddie: That's a good question. Nowadays I think it's a combination. You need to be able to produce one way or another in the ring. Also, the fans are much more demanding than ever before, so once all the talking is over, you need to produce in the ring.

Rey: False, but at the same time it's 50/50. If you know how to wrestle and you know how to speak, you're in for a good game.

I'd like to see more guys answer this question. We can debate this until our finger tips are blue, but I wonder what more wrestlers think.

I think the fact that two "workrate" guys gave wishy-washy answers speaks volumes.

I'd like to see better questions.

I agree, shitty questions deserve shitty answers.

Well...that just about seals it then.

Yep, it's just not going to happen then, huh?
