WWE in talks with..

What % of the core audience would you guys even consider to be rap fans? At least rap fans that watch wrestling. Of course, this is a stereotype, but I would assume only the MTV generation would give two shits about this guy. Even then, most probably won't even know him.

Cena, despite him gimmick, is over. So, it would appear that SOME people care. Maybe they just care because it's comedic though?

Heres an idea: Instead of having a Cena/Proof rap battle, how bout you put Proof and Cena on the same side? Build up to WM with cena losing matches to Big Show via interferance from Matt Morgan and Rhyno and whatnot, then at WM, have Cena bring out his contingency plan: D-12. They do a monster rap together, bringing Cena up to their level of skill, in the eyes of the fans. Then, near the end of the match, have a big shmozz erupt between team Big Show and d-12(mine as well have The Colding Bros. here, so the rappers have some wrestlers on their side) And through all this shit, Cena hits the F-U, 1,2,3, new champ.

How about Cena just have a good feud over the US title and win the belt at Wrestlemania? Why waste all the money and time on second rate celebrities that won't bring anything to the show?

I think it would be really stupid for them to go with the "battle rap" thing.

Cena's a face now, and was only doing the battles as a heel tactic. He'd have nothing to gain out of this but a small chance at "legit cred" and maybe a little bit of extra heat. He stands a lot more to lose, though--being made to look like an ass and getting humilated, and the support of some rap/wrestling fans. Plus, I doubt any rappers with much "cred" want to verbally job to him.

I'm expected if anything, this guy raps Cena to the ring at Mania.

Exactly...I don't understand why Cena doesn't just squash TBS and Then He calls Proof out to cut a Rap.

I'm curious to see who they tap to do the Anthem and the "Halftime" show...

It would be a HUGE coup for WWE if they could score OutKast as the NFL couldn't get them and Apprently they are wrestling fans...

First of all AS you did spell fabulous correctly, but the rapper Fabolous purposely mispells it for his name. That is what Papacita was refering to.

But...

Why?

Cena calling out Proof to rap with him...GOLD

Honestly, DISASTER.

Cena calls out "Proof" and about 1/5 of the arena knows who he is, the crowd dies.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind Proof (or perhaps someone else with more "cred") rapping Cena to the ring, or for a celebratory collaboration with Cena afterwards. However, I'd rather they just focus on Cena winning the U.S. Title rather than a hip-hop show.

In terms of the percentage of hip-hop fans in the audience, I'd say it's a substantial percent. In major urban areas, there are a lot of young people into hip-hop, and I know a lot of hip-hop fans who watch wrestling and like John Cena. I'd say NYC would pop huge for Cena personally.

If a rapper has to make an appearence, have it be someone with "more cred"

Nas would be better because Cena would just get ripped to shreads...

I'm sure even AS knows who the fuck he is...

Name rings a bell.

No business on the PPV, though, because I've heard it from one of you idiots as opposed to the old fashioned way.

Well, I think Cena is a better rapper than he lets on though. His slower version of rapping is just so the crowd can get their pops in. I just think it'd be cool for Jay-Z (or Nas) to come out after Cena wins the U.S. Title, and start battling with him. I'm not sure if Cena could drag a good match out of the Big Show, but who knows.

Why not just have Jay-Z (I KNOW~! That name!) be a ring announcer for Cena's match?

Send him out for the rap fan pop and let him bring a translator so everyone else can understand as well.

Only reason I mentioned a battle rap after the match is because Cena verbally dissed him last year for not showing up, and it would make sense. It'd be funny to see what Jay-Z says about Cena not main-eventing (a proclamation he made last year).

It would also be a waste of 20 minutes

Add the Sable/Torrie vs Stacy/Jackie match and at least 30 minutes is wasted.

All the more reason not to do a rap off.

Yeah, true. I'd rather that time be devoted to another match (like Angle/Eddy or a lower-card match). I agree that having a high-profile rapper on commentary would be good enough. Question is, after Big Show, who does Cena move on to? Rhyno?

Posted

Rhyno,A-Train,Matt Morgan and a heel Billy Gunn are the only guys at the moment who the wwe would feud with Cena,Kanyon would have been a good choice but his wwe career is dead now.

Not sure about that. I could of swore I read an interview with him where he said he loses the majority of battle raps he's in. Now, I'm assuming a popular rapper would be quite good at battle raps, so Cena would probably be slaughtered. Unless he took on Ja-Rule. I have a feeling he's not very good.

He's equally as mainstream as Jay Z is and that's without being asst. with Beyonce...

If Rap was comparable to Wrestling, Nas is Rap's Chris Benoit.

Not the best personality but delivers the goods and has a LARGE fanbase (which is central in NYC)...but gets overshadowed by the big stars (Em, 50, Dre, Snoop, Jayz, Ja, DMX, and even Ludacris) but yet keeps on keeping on...

Personally, Ja Rule would be great if Cena FU's Him mid rap.

He'd get signed with Dre on the FUCKING spot.

Depends on which Ja shows up...

If it's the young hungry Ja from Queens, Ja can tear it up but Ja is the Hogan of Rap...in the sense he just got lazy and uses his drawing power to stay alive.

I think Proof will most likely do a rap entrance for him. Or maybe they might do collabo for his theme music just for WM. I kinda curious can Cena really rap, he comes off as a punch line bandit to me.

That's not a great point.

Precious few outside of wrestling know who Benoit is.
