snuffbox Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 I missed Soil because I was at bestbuy(picked up the new finger eleven, Jeff Buckley's mystery whiteboy cd, and Fear and Loathing the Criterion Collection dvd set) and ran into a few old friends. 3 days grace was the worst band Ive ever seen, beating out former worsts Filter and Bender. They introduced every song with lines like 'this is for anybody thats ever been picked on!' It was kinda funny though. Unfortunately, the night before the show, I found out that a friend of mine had been found dead in his apartment. I really wasnt in the concertgoing mood but i had already commited to going. Staind was better than every review Ive heard. Aaron never went off key...and they played Nutshell by Alice in Chains, the first song I played after the bad news the night before. That was pretty cool. So...it was alright, i guess. I just wasnt in a good mood really and I didnt bother to try getting laid, obviously. One of those times I just didnt feel like it honestly. But I would reccomend seeing Staind, maybe Aarons voice is improved since last years probs. And 3 Doors Grace = sic queer.
Guest Choken One Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Staind gets a bad rep but I do believe that Lewis has a good voice, the concerts are usually considered bad because he tends to do those sit down whiney songs alot and he lacks ANY sort of charisma to pull that off.. I don't like their lyrics at all though, Though Lewis could make a good living just doing AIC/TOOL Covers.
snuffbox Posted February 8, 2004 Author Report Posted February 8, 2004 I don't like their lyrics at all though Epiphany is one of the lryically weakest songs Ive ever heard
1234-5678 Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 3 days grace was the worst band Ive ever seen, beating out former worsts Filter and Bender. They introduced every song with lines like 'this is for anybody thats ever been picked on!' It was kinda funny though. You did laugh out loud at them and point, right? Maybe shove down some nerd who was yelling out "I know exactly what you are talking about! WHOOOOOO!" I saw Staind in 2001, it was a pretty good show. The heavy hitters kept the mosh pit alive and the slow ballad part worked out well too. This was at the height of their popularity with "Outside" and um, that other song being pretty big hits.
Red Baron Posted February 8, 2004 Report Posted February 8, 2004 Aaron never went off key...and they played Nutshell by Alice in Chains How can some one go off key, when he is basically monotone. And covering that song, probably did no justice at all
Guest Choken One Posted February 9, 2004 Report Posted February 9, 2004 they actually do good covers believe it or not... They might have the best SOBER cover i've come across
