I liked the animated version a lot. Whenever Kano or someone mentioned Sonya got 2 of her partners killed, was the second partner supposed to be Johnny Cage or something? He never got mentioned in the show once.

Cage was dead the whole time. Killed by Kahn's minions.

That buddy to the left of Baraka looks a hell of a lot like Scorpion...

Nice little list...

The one thing I liked about Annihilation was the fact that they really tried to pump in as much characters and continue the storyline as much as possible... The rest of it... well there were some ok visuals, and I did like Scorpion vs. Sub Zero. However the multiple dropped storylines, horrid continuity flaws(Regarding the characters especially), and average at best fight scenes left quite some sour tastes in my mouth.

I love the first one though... there was quite a bit more tact and suttle differences that made it a far more enjoyable movie. I don't feel like reiterating a thousand points already made though.

Deception shall be next on my list on Mortal Kombat games to Konquer

By the looks of that screen there...

You got Scorpion, Baraka, Mileena, Sub Zero

I'm not sure who that guy on the second row is....

But Nightwolf, Bo Rai Cho and Sindel are all there.

That last row looks to be Ermac, Li Mei, Kung Lao and Kenshi...

There's probably some secret characters.

That "Kung Lao" looks like a girl to me....

I really don't know why they brought back Bo Rai Cho. What a shitty character. I like Blind Kenchi though, and I'm really happy to see Nightwolf back. He'll probably be the first character that I pick and try to get good with.

If that dude in the hat is Ashrah... where in the heck is Kung Lao?

And if they think of busting his neck at the beginning... they lost themselves a buyer... ok maybe not... but that would suck.

He's not in it. At least not that we know of so far. He may be one of the people captured by the Dragon King.

Semi off-topic...if you thought MKA was bad, Talisa Soto stars also in the horribly crappy Vampirella, the movie. Judging by her performance, I thought it may have been early in her career--it was in between MK and MKA, though. She really phones it in, and you can tell she's just reading off cue cards.

It would take a lot of time to detail just why it sucks, but let's sum up:

Roger Corman exec produced

VAMPIRES FROM OUTER SPACE!...but they're vampires in a SYNTHETIC sense, except for "Vlad's" cult.

Satellites trying to block out the sun, but since they're VAMPIRE satellites, they need special shielding.

Vampires in gimp outfits.

Dracula as a really bad goth-ish rock star.

High-tech vampire hunters...who use really large flashlight guns, needles with holy water, and wear HBK hats.

Vampirella herself is really freakin' boring. Only one good "one liner" and it sounds like something a Conehead would say.

Vampirella's chemistry with "Adam Van Helsing" makes you long for Talisa's chemistry with Robin Shou.

RANDOM GRATUITOUS BREAST SHOTS (well, that could be a plus...)

Hilarious death scene for the villian.

Really horrible all around. It's a laugh riot.

Looks old school and really awesome.

I cannot wait to get into the story, that will no doubt rule, which is behind this game. One thing I always favoured with Kombat over Street Fighter was the fact that MK's story blew Capcom's fighter to shit.

Over on Herv SUPER posted a E3 report on the game, here's the message.

MK Deception - I thought it would be a rehash of Deadly Alliance, but it totally blew me away, it was so awesome. Movement feels so much better, and the stage fatalities didn't make it a retarded version of BIOFREAKS. Chess was okay, the Konquest looks extra awesome, it's a free-roving adventure where you meet lots of other MK characters (I think I heard a rep say something like ALL OF THEM or 40+ or something). The puzzle mode was fun and funny, and while a clear ripoff of SPF2T, wasn't quite as filled with random dumb-long comboing nonsense.

Ed Boon confirmed Sektor today. He also said Smoke, Sektor and Kabal would have totally new looks.

So that means the confirmed list looks like this now...

1. Nightwolf

2. Sindel

3. Baraka

4. Mileena

5. Ermac

6. Sub-Zero

7. Scorpion

8. Li Mei

9. Kenshi

10. Bo' Rai Cho

11. Hotaru

12. Ashrah

13. Tanya

14. Kabal

15. Sektor

16. Smoke

17. Noob Saibot

18. Kira

19. Ben

20. Skab

21. Dairou

22. Shujinko

23.

24.

Two slots left open, with Jax, Raiden, Quan Chi, and Kitana all possibilities. Plus the subboss is supposed to be playable and there should be at least one new character.

If the last two were Cyrax and Stryker I'd be 100% happy with the roster. Too bad that's not going to happen.

I don't get your Stryker love, but to each their own I guess. I just thought he was a shitty character. A fat cop that ends up fighting in the Outworld using guns and grenades.

Then again, I like Nightwolf, the stereotypical indian, so....

I don't care about Quan Chi or Jax. Kitana would be...ok I guess, but she was nothing special in Deadly Alliance. I'd like to see Raiden though.

Hey, now..MKA is a great movie.

If you're making fun of it the entire time, at least. o_o

Favorite part: Near the end, when they've got everyone "matched up" and ready to fight..they kind of stand there giving each other death glares. Not Shao Kahn, though..he gives Liu Kang this "What's up?" look, and tilts his head back.

Strange, but funny as hell considering how serious everyone else looks..

I'm hyped for this game. The story should rock. And I should have a job by then! YAY

In the end, when Kahn is on that mountain, the pose is straight out of MK II's battle plan. Nice touch. I don't understand how they could put in such minor details as that, but screw up which robot has missles.

Now apparently the Ed interview was fake and Sektor isn't confirmed. I hope he really is in.

Exactly. Part of what makes it awesomely bad is that the whole project is played so straight. That's why I'd rather watch MKA over Batman and Robin any day (well, just one reason at least).

And his momma dresses him funny.

Man, could you imagine the terror in the heart of a gang-banger when he sees THAT bad boy in blue running towards him?

Why is he wearing a Shriner's hat?

Stryker love comes from the fact that he is really fun to play as. I like his story too.

Shriners hat? He wears a black cap.

Oooh! Well he does! But it's BACKWARDS!! How cool!! He's really happenin' yo.

I just want to re-emphasize how practical that outfit is for a cop. All it is missing is a nice target on the chest that glows in the dark.

Were those rejected shirt designs for Star Trek?

No. They captured and repaired Cyrax, who in turn became a good guy and now works for them, but they've never had any known interaction with Sektor(except for Sektor's MK Gold ending, which did not happen).

Last we saw Sektor he had lost to Sub-Zero in a fight for the leadership of the Lin Kuei and was forming his own clan in Japan.

Wasn't he on the SWAT team though? Sometimes SWAT team members wear their hats backward to get a clearer shot at someone.
