Some news

If so, please delete this thread.

When the Kane vs Goldberg match took place a couple of weeks ago on RAW, this was due to the fact that while Kane seemed to be “next” in line for a title shot against Goldberg, this never materialized. The match was a one time deal in hopes of getting a few rating points before Goldberg focused his attention on Brock Lesnar to hype their upcoming WrestleMania XX match.

As reported earlier, WWE released Chris Kanyon. There are rumors circulating around that the WWE will be releasing more wrestlers (approx 4-6) in the upcoming weeks that are not being used. In a somwhat related story, the WWE creative team have told Charlie Haas and Sheldon Benjamin that they don’t currently have any storyline ideas for them and to wait on the sidelines for the time being. This may be a bad sign but I personally don't think they would be released.

Todd Grisham has been signed as an announcer for the WWE. Grisham was a sports reporter and anchor for KOLD in Tucson, AZ. Expect for Grisham to show up on RAW over the next few weeks.

In March, Spike TV will have several WrestleMania related TV events. On March 9th at 10 p.m., Spike TV will air “WrestleMania’s Ten Greatest Matches Ever”. Steve Austin will host the show, which will feature WWE stars judging the Top Ten. On Monday, March 15th after RAW, Spike TV will air “10 Things Every Guys Should Experience” which will feature two teams competing for the chance to attend WrestleMania XX.

(^I can't wait to see this!!!)

WWE Management was very happy with the Brock Lesnar-Eddie Guerrero matches over the weekend and they expect the two to have a great match at Backlash (*coughthey mean No Way Out*cough). Management is also seeing a lot of potential in Lamont. They feel that he can be a great character and solid wrestler. Also, management thinks that Matt Morgan still has a lot to learn before they decide to give him a push.

Many wrestlers backstage feel that Shaniqua is not working as hard as she should be given that she is new to the business. She was fined $200 at the February 8th house show in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan when she arrived late and missed a pre-show practice session.

WHAT?

End the Basham experiment/disaster and slide WGTT in their spot.

That was HARD!

TWGTT, a team ENTIRELY CREATED BY WWE, has nothing to do...

Am I not the only one who thinks WWE logic is retarded?!

Well, they're actually good in the ring and aren't hosses, so that might explain it, just like it explains Matt Hardy's misuse on Raw.

yeah, because the Bashams SCREAM charisma.

TWGTT has vast potential, and a tag match between them and the Dudleys would fit right in at WM.

Good workers that lack charisma and aren't over i'm afraid.

Hush, we're not talking about the Bashams anymore

RE TWGTT: There is nothing for TWGTT to do at the moment. Who can they feud with? The APA are broken down and 2 Cool aren't gonna be jobbing the belts any time soon. And more to the point, who would anybody here not complain about TWGTT being programmed with. Hopefully, there'll be some new face tag teams added into the mix soon, but until then TWGTT should be on singles or one-off tag matches.

No way are they getting the boot though. They're WWE's strongest heel tag team.

and 2 Cool aren't gonna be jobbing the belts any time soon.

Why?

Just put the belts on them and let them take the role Bashams bombed at. Have Scotty and Rikishi challenge against a team with interest and heat for a couple of months.

I'm not interested in the WM "10 greatest matches" special unless they show at least two of those matches complete & uncut on the special.

Related note - how many of those matches will just happen to include HHH?

And there's absolutely no sane justification for keeping the belts on Too Cool for any length of time at all.

For a start, 2cool need to finish their series with the Bashams. Then they need to have at least one succesful feud as champions or they'll be written off by the marks. I know that deep down they're a joke team, but at the moment SD needs strong face teams. I can't see 2Cool losing the belts until the May PPV, unless they do a title change on SD a month or two before

And if TWGTT were to beat 2cool for the belts, what then? They'd have to face the APA and either win (and run out of competition) or lose (and prove themselves to be worse than the APA and run out of competition).

The reason The Bashams tag title reign worked is that they were booked as being crap but cheated to keep the belt. TWGTT, on the other hand, are booked as the best tag team in the division. If they were to have that role they would have to either come across as being inferior wrestlers (and thus mean that they're worthless without the belts) or completely dominate the division and bury everyone else.

It's best to keep them out of the spotlight until there are new teams for them to challenge.

Have them cleanly win at the PPV and then cleanly win a gimmick match on the next SD!.

The Basham disaster is over and never mentioned again.

Start a feud with WGTT, where WGTT cheaply wins the belts and cheats to win at Mania. Drag it onto J-Day for a blow off.

And if TWGTT were to beat 2cool for the belts, what then? They'd have to face the APA and either win (and run out of competition) or lose (and prove themselves to be worse than the APA and run out of competition).

Have them do what the Dudleyz did last fall. Book them as top players who happen to be tag champions until new contenders come along.

The reason The Bashams tag title reign worked

Nope.

The Basham reign was a boring, heatless mess that had to be mercy killed.

It's best to keep them out of the spotlight until there are new teams for them to challenge.

Couldn't disagree more. Burying them on Velocity (your ingenious idea) while the Bashams kill any interest in the division has no upside.

The Smackdown Tag belts need to be on TWGTTP. They can garner enough heat where the face teams chase them for a while. For some freshness, they could make cruiserweight teams for a short-while to chase them as well, so it's not just APA vs. TWGTTP #5612365481.

Okay, I should have said "the reasons The Bashams were booked like they were". It was the basic Honky Tonk Man reign. Only dumb.

You're talking like TWGTT are being burried. At the moment they have nothing to gain by being pushed as the top players on SD. They need to have their opponents built up. Look at The Dudleys on Raw. Once they won the belts, they didn't have anyone to lose to until Evolution came along. And now they can't beat them because they'll have no-one else to face.

From a smark point of view, the division should be built aroung TWGTT, but from a mark point of view, the division should be built around 2cool and the APA. TWGTT have nothing to gain from being pushed right now. Let them go out of the spotlight for a while, then come back for annother year long run as the top players in the division. If not, people will only start complaining that they're getting bored of TWGTT matches (see Rey in the cruiser division).

Don't worry, TWGTT will be back on top in a few months, but give someone else a turn for now.

When was the last time they won more than one match in a row on SD!?

TWGTT have nothing to gain from being pushed right now

They have nothing to gain from jobbing on SD! and being forgotten on the B show for sx months either.

Don't worry, TWGTT will be back on top in a few months, but give someone else a turn for now

And the people we're supposed to be giving a turn are failing miserably.

When TWGTT go back to being booked as the centre of the tag division, they'll still be as over as ever. Therefore they have nothing to lose by being put on singles/squash duty.

How can we be so sure?

If fans see a team as b talent and jobbers for six months, why will they suddenly care when they're booked well again?

Face it, the Bashams have failed worse than anyone thought they could have. We need a top heel team.

We have a team that is currently being wasted and buried on the B show that did a DAMN good job in that role for eight months last year.

The Bashams would be better off in a Benoit-esque kick ass role, more like they were in OVW, rather than perveted sex freaks. That's not helping their cause. Neither is Shaniqua overshadowing them every step of the way. They're not high on charisma, but they're not bad on the mic...no worse than Benoit.

I wouldn't mind a WGTT split right now to be honest. After Wrestlemania sometime, turn Benjamin face, and give him and Haas a month or so to feud. If the opportunity comes afterwards, have Cena drop the US Title (presuming he has it by then) on Haas because he's the sort of guy the belt would help, not Cena. Then give them a US Title feud providing the first month went well...doube change so that Haas ends the feud with the belt.

Then afterwards, give Benjamin a mini-feud with Angle...nothing big, not for the title...just something to give Angle a solid opponent, and to help elevate Benjamin. Angle would probably be heel by then anyway. Angle goes over but gives Benjamin some respect. Haas can defend the US Title from there.

Because that's just what SD! needs. Less tag teams with no heel team.

Ick. I don't want Haas and Benjamin to split up until mid-2005 at the very earliest, let alone now. Right now they SHOULD be getting back to being the centerpiece of the tag team division which they flat-out deserve to have.

Here's what you do with the TWGTT:

GIVE THEM THE FUCKING TAG TITLES! HAVE THEM DEFEND THEM!

Oh, and throw Jim Cornette in as their manager. That would OWN~!

Well, sure. The split's just my personal want. Benjamin v Haas sound a fuckload better than WGTT/Too Cool or WGTT/APA.

Am I the only one who thinks that Bret/Shawn (WM XII) is going to get the "greatest 'mania match ever" slot?

That or Hart / Austin. Savage / Flair would be nice though.

WWE really needs to split the Bashams and have them on different shows. Oh, and quit pretending their brothers as well. The Damaja (Danny Basham) would fit in well with RAW and Doug can stay on SD!.

I say send them to OVW for six months first.

Give them a chance to become less boring and give the fans a chance to forget.

I can't see them becoming 'less boring' in OVW. Hell, they had some great matches in OVW. The main problem is the gimmick.

Let me rephrase that.

They bore the holy hell out of me and I don't want them on my TV.
