haVoc 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2004 411's Byte This Report: Kurt Angle, Jamie Noble Hosts are Josh Matthews and Dr. Tom. We are just three days away from No Way Out. As Eddie said, Lesnar will be wrestling the full force of Latino Heat. Joined today by Droz, Tazz, Kurt Angle and Jamie Noble. Segment One: Tazz We welcome Tazz to the show who says he found out on the internet that Josh is a metrosexual. The hosts proceed to have a lengthy discussion concerning salons. Tazz' thoughts on Goldberg? He shouldn't even be on No Way Out in the front row - he's a RAW superstar and should stay there. If Goldberg decides to jump the rail, he should be prepared for the 290lb former NCAA champion, Brock Lesnar. Dr. Tom asks if Tazz is a little biased due to his being on Smackdown. Tazz answers that if he was Goldberg he wouldn't want to be on the RAW side either. He believes Bill started the fight. Matthews himself conducted the interview in which the feud first began, which escalated at the Rumble. Tazz thinks Goldberg is a bully but Dr. Tom believes he’s a big boy and can take care of himself - he has in fact in the past been a bit of a bully himself. As to who would win if a fight broke out, Tazz doesn't think Goldberg has a chance in hell. And that's the bottom line. Although Goldberg is a tough dude, as McMahon said, he is a lunatic. Tazz asks how it is that the Smackdown GM, Paul Heyman is a guest of the Chairman of the board himself on RAW, and gets speared for his trouble, on national TV? Tazz thinks Smackdown guys should not like this; regardless of how much of a scumbag Heyman is - as he is Smackdown's scumbag. Is Eddie being downplayed at NWO? Well, Lesnar has a distraction, that being Goldberg. It must be remembered that Goldberg is suspended indefinitely. Now he can do whatever he wants at NWO. Tazz wonders if there are any rules in this world anymore, as there is nothing to keep Goldberg from interfering. Tom thinks that if anyone jumps over the rail they could maybe be arrested, or very badly injured. Guerrero is more than capable of becoming WWE Champ, but even with the distraction, Tazz doesn't think its going to happen. It will be Lesnar's night as he will retain the WWE belt and will knock the holy hell out of Goldberg. Tazz isn't knocking Goldberg, he just doesn't think he should be anywhere near their show. He should wait until WMXX. A lot of the Smackdown officials are nervous about this as Goldberg is a destructive man. Dr. Tom thinks Goldberg's beef is that Lesnar was very successful in the early parts of his career, while the Big Bearded Machine was pretty much downplayed on his entry and received a lot of criticism. E-mail from Scott of Long Island, New York asks how it felt for Tazz to commentate the royal rumble match with Jim Ross. Tazz said it was cool it was different from working with MC. He didn't find out about it until the very same day, but didn't feel particularly nervous or excited. A lot of people don't realise that they have worked together in the past, and that there was any tension between the two is a load of BS. JR was in fact responsible for helping Tazz out in a couple of his early commentating matches. He's a bonafide pro. Tazz also wants to say he's looking forward to the Noble match and the Rey match. Could be the show stealer. Tazz leaves Dr. Tom doesn’t think that the possibility of both Guerrero's winning belts at NWO would smooth over their relationship - in fact the Guerrero fire that exists in all their family members would probably make it worse. Only 30 days away from WMXX at Madison Square Garden. Segment Two: Kurt Angle Joined by Kurt Angle, who's doing fantastic. He's looking forward to wrestling at NWO as it gives him another opportunity to wrestle at WrestleMania for the WWE Championship. What follows now is an excerpt from his WWE Originals song "I Don't Suck", which Dr Tom loves and which was requested by Howard Finkle. Angle believes that except for his song, the CD is pretty damn good. Angle believes his life story would be called "The Kurt Angle Life Story". On if there's any truth that Angle will be the next Diva to pose in Playboy, Angle laughs and says although he would, he doesn't have the body for it. Peter from Ontario asks that when he was making the transition from amateur to professional wrestling, some people didn't think it was such a good idea, and whether after all the success he's had has changed their opinions. Angle says that in a lot of ways, they have. He believes amateur wrestling has always taken a back seat to pro wrestling as the latter has a lot more exposure. Amateurs are a little bit bitter as they haven't been able to 'mainstream' their support like basketball, football and WWE. Many ambassadors of the sport have looked down on pro wrestling, not understanding the sport - which is not only about showcasing athleticism but entertainment as well. Now a lot more amateur wrestlers understand that pro wrestling is a good way to showcase their sport, especially when WWE Superstars such as himself, Lesnar, Haas & Benjamin step in the ring. People know where they came from and that they give more exposure to amateur wrestling than amateur wrestling itself has. Angle thinks a lot of amateur wrestlers are going to follow in their footsteps. On who he would rather face at WM, Angle would have said Eddie Guerrero, but either way he and his opponent are going to steal the show. Both guys have a knack for pro wrestling, but really, Angle just wants to win back his WWE Title for the fifth time. Beatrice from Ontario wants to know what the biggest payoff for being in the WWE is. He thinks although as a pro wrestler he gets paid pretty well for what he does, more than anything it’s the fan appreciation. He loves going out there and showing people his true talents. He likes to improve his character and perform for people. If it means he can make people laugh or excited then he's done his job well. On the status of his neck, Angle says it’s better than before his first surgery. He hopes therefore that this year will go better than the last. Thoughts on WM coming back to MSG, he's excited on coming back, not just because of the NY fans, but because it will be the biggest PPV ever, have a huge buy rate and break all kinds of records. Angle believes wrestling is back on the upswing again people are becoming excited as they did back in 1999-2000, he's fortunate and excited to be a part of it. Darby from Oklahoma asks if there are any past WWE Superstars apart from Bret Hart who he would like to wrestle against. Angle picks Shawn Michaels as they would have incredible chemistry - also Ricky Steamboat, although he probably wouldn't be willing to do it. The third opponent would be Dr. Tom! Angle thinks Dr. Tom is an incredible coach and taught him a lot and wants to thank him for being able to learn from no one but the best. He also mentions Bruce Pritchard, who helped him out incredibly. Dr. Tom mentions that he was the opponent in Angle's first match, from which Angle remembers a chop which made him think he was going to die. Angle believes that the MVP of Smackdown this year has been the Big Show, as he has stepped up to the plate and contributed more to Smackdown than anyone. Angle leaves, but we are joined by Howard Finkle. Great. Segment Three: Jamie Noble Welcome Jamie Noble to Byte This. Dr. Tom says he has been watching Noble's progress and is both happy and sad due to what he has seen with Jamie and Nidia. The Jamie Noble he knows always kept his women in line. Jamie replies that Nidia's got a mind of her own and is out of control. The deal is that she is an attention getter and this is just one of her ways of receiving it. He believes she thinks he is going to take it easy on her and that he is not mad. It'll be a lot different than last time they wrestled. Noble thinks she is a good wrestler when faced against another girl, and thinks she will be successful one day when she chooses to take her career in that direction, but she definitely won't be against him. In addition, he has no problem competing in inter-gender matches, just look at some of the stuff he did to Torrie Wilson. Jamie is trying his best to get a hold of the Playboy issue with Sable and Torrie. An email from Michael in Cincinnati asks why Jamie is known as 'By God' on House Shows but not on TV. He isn't so sure but has spoken with Cole and Tazz and thinks the whole God issue would be a little controversial. Charlie of England asks if Noble thinks there should be more Cruiserweight wrestlers on Smackdown. He does as one of the things that they are missing is that there is too much focus on one or two guys, although the magic of the division is that anybody could be beaten on any given day. They have enough talent who should be on TV. Rebecca from Connecticut asks if he thinks the Cruiserweights have been getting enough attention lately. Noble realises that they are just a piece in the puzzle on the show and to say they don't would be a little greedy. They shouldn't complain. Dr. Tom believes at No Way Out this Sunday Jamie Noble will have a chance to show off his talent as he teaches Nidia how to wrestle. Fink points out that RAW is missing a Cruiserweight division and that Noble would be a welcome addition, as well as the youngest announcer in WWE. Jamie's thoughts on Doragon? Noble thinks he is very accomplished in both WCW (where they had a lot of time to showcase the cruiserweight division) and Japan and is a great wrestler. He says they have advanced cruisers like Ultimo, and that they just need the time to prove it. Arriana from California wants to know how he compares WWE and WCW. Noble prefers WWE as they gave him more realistic opportunities and made him feel more welcome, like he was part of a team. You don't get better than WWE. Noble hopes Eddie will win at No Way Out, as he is not much bigger than him and would give him more hope that a guy Noble's size could get more done. On the Cruiserweight Championship match, it could go either way, although he looks forward to going one on one with either of them. They could push Noble to the level he wants to go. Rachel from Connecticut asks how he feels about the storyline that brought him into WWE. He thinks it was fine as they blasted him onto the scene and all of a sudden he's in the position to grab the Cruiserweight belt. He wished they had kept running with the storyline, however, as it could have become something better. Josh is a little reluctant to wish Noble luck in his match, due to how he's been treating Matthews' former Tough Enough contender. Noble believes he is a little biased as he likes Nidia and isn't a big fan of Jamie Noble. Tom agrees, although Josh protests that he is a fan proclaiming that his in ring ability is second to none. Noble leaves Byte This is trying to get a hold of Droz, although he is a little under the weather right now. But we have the Fink! He enjoyed Japan. They had a great tour and had 20,000 people in Saitama. The press coverage over there was off the chart. Fink reveals that Japan is a civil society! They have newspapers! And news magazines! He holds up one of these news magazines as Dr. Tom makes Japanese sounding noises in the background. Very pc. It gets better though, as he proceeds to speak with a very poor Japanese accent, with numerous mentions of Sho Funaki. Taka wouldn't stand for that. Freddie from New Jersey asks the Fink why he doesn't announce on RAW any more. Everything id based on change and one of the things the higher ups in WWE wanted to do was change the announcers on RAW. He has in fact been voted the sexiest ring announcer by fans of WWE.com. Everyone happily buttkisses the Fink. He reveals that he will be part of the WM hall of fame, which is right up his proverbial alley. Along with Dr. Tom's tongue! Ha! Martin, who sounds like he's just about to steal the Fink's car, asks how it felt to be part of Insurrection. The Fink stands firmly by the conviction that no one does ring announcing better than he. He believes he has a lot of fuel left in the tank, while Byte This descends into chaos with Dr. Tom at the helm. Right now, the Fink believes WWE has the greatest assemblage of WWE Superstars ever. Everyone gives and gives more. If you have the opportunity to see a live event, you won't regret it. He agrees with Kurt that they are on the upswing. No confirmed guests next week. End of Show. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted February 14, 2004 If Goldberg decides to jump the rail, he should be prepared for the 290lb former NCAA champion, Brock Lesnar. Or, uhm, security, who's paid to handle unruly fans.
Aero 0 Report post Posted February 14, 2004 Angle believes that the MVP of Smackdown this year has been the Big Show, as he has stepped up to the plate and contributed more to Smackdown than anyone. He's really contributed to the US Title division, for sure! That ONE title defense was a TV classic! Even Cena's more of a SD MVP.
Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted February 14, 2004 Jamie's thoughts on Dragon? Noble thinks he is very accomplished in both WCW (where they had a lot of time to showcase the cruiserweight division) and Japan and is a great wrestler. He says they have advanced cruisers like Ultimo, and that they just need the time to prove it. Ultimo Dragon's been around for about eight months now!! How much more time does he need? Speaking of time, it was a waste of it (and $$$) for Vince to sign him and then do nothing with him because he wasn't a Japanese Rey Mysterio. Ridiculous. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2004 Wasn't it supposed to be Lesnar & Knoble, not Angle? Anyway, a nice read. Fink points out that RAW is missing a Cruiserweight division and that Noble would be a welcome addition Don't even joke about that.
Guest Coffey Report post Posted February 15, 2004 Has Byte This! always been kayfabed? I've never read it or listened to it before.
SuperJerk 0 Report post Posted February 15, 2004 I think Byte This is kayfabed only part of the time, like Confidential. They talk about storylines they'd like to do, and talk about other superstars as if everyone's buddies, but they also talk about the matches as if its a real competition. I think he's saying that WWE needs to give him more TV/match time in order to prove himself rather than just throwing him out in 3 minute matches in which he's hardly able to do anything. Guest Coffey Report post Posted February 15, 2004 I don't know. Ultimo doesn't strike me the same way that he used too. I know that he doesn't get a lot of time to work, but from what I have seen of him on Velocity, his offense looks painfully bad and he seems sloppy. His kicks look like they barely connect...if at all. He's like the polar opposite of Rob Van Dam, except they are both still sloppy.

Why should I believe that security picks and chooses who they stop? I wrestling in general has always assumed that fans are morons, but COME ON! If I jump the rail, security absolutely won't stand there and hope a wrestler gets to me.

Security won't stop them because if they know that a wrestler is planning on jumping over the railing at OTHER wrestlers, and is indirectly given sanction by his employers to do such, they assume it's part of the show.
