razazteca Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 The Rondel White era is over, I purged him from all of my teams since it seems that Dmitre Young is the regular DH now. I had to make a few changes since Sean Casey is taking the week off to rehab his Quad so White and Wilson had to go for players who get regular at-bats. I might consider Willis for Dotel trade if you are interested.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 I sent that offer, and sent another as well.
razazteca Posted July 2, 2004 Report Posted July 2, 2004 I'll think about it. A 2 player deal might work.
razazteca Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 Excuse me while I cry as I watch each of my position players injure themselves sliding to plate. Casey is out for a few days but Rameriez will be out for what can be weeks.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 If everything holds up the way it is now, Im going to be in 2nd place in the H2H league about 30 games back of White Sux.
treble Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 I'm looking to upgrade at SS in the NL league and I'm willing to trade one (or more) of Ensberg, Miles, or Castillo if anyone needs someone at 2B or 3B.
razazteca Posted July 3, 2004 Report Posted July 3, 2004 Send Castillo my way. I sent a trade offer to The Worst Team.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 With Nevin out for who knows how long Im screwed in the H2H league although for now Im ok able to play Wilson at 1B. Im probably looking for a trade if I find out his injury is really long or even season ending (torn cartiledge sounds bad, I dunno). I'll be willing to trade: Jack Wilson Jose Vidro Eric Milton Cliff Lee for a 1B if I need to do so.
Lightning Flik Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 Marvins, torn catiledge usually means surgery which could end his season at this point (depending on severity). So you probably want to make a trade just in case anyways. I've also made three trade offers. One to Rebels of Oakland, one to Serenity and finally one to NuclearSledgehammers. Now then, Marvin, for my trade with your team to go through (should you accept it), I need to have either Rebels or Serenity accept my trade offer. If neither accept, I revoke my trade with you, because I don't really have a suitable 3B left (as my 3B can play 1B as well). Just so you understand why that trade is revoked. Ok?
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 I'll just wait to see if either of those other trades are accepted, but I like the trade. Im gonna send you a PM..
razazteca Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 I'm looking to trade Royce Clayton in all the leagues that I have him in. All I ask for in trade is either a power hitter infielder for whatever possession is currently injuried (2B or 3B or OF) or another closer. Cordero is also available for trade. Of course with my bad luck the second I make the trade I will regret it as in the case of giving up my power hitting california outfielders for pitchers.
Lightning Flik Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 (edited) Trade offer made for Royce Clayton. *shrugs* Best offer I could come up with right now, with my other assets currently tied up. Edit: ...I make way too many trade. Oh well, I'm doing good from all the movements. Edited July 5, 2004 by Lightning Flik
Lightning Flik Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 (edited) Trade between Rebels of Oakland and Crimson Storm, passed. Trade between NuclearSledgehammers and Crimson Storm, passed. Enjoy your players, gentlemen. Edit: Just for score, these were the trades To Crimson Storm A. Jones (Atl - CF) E. Milton (Phi - SP) To NuclearSledgehammers C. Blake (Cle - 1B,3B) G. Jenkins (Mil - LF) To Rebels Of Oakland C. Lee (CWS - LF) To Crimson Storm R. Mackowiak (Pit - 2B,3B,LF,RF) Edited July 5, 2004 by Lightning Flik
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Trade between Rebels of Oakland and Crimson Storm, passed. Trade between NuclearSledgehammers and Crimson Storm, passed. Enjoy your players, gentlemen. Well now I gotta ask a question.. Would you have approved Blake/Lee for Milton. I backed out of that trade because I figured that it wouldnt have been passed because Blake and Lee was a lot to give up for Milton (and I realize that I was the one that would benefit).
Lightning Flik Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 I wouldn't've since I got the trade from Rebels of Oakland. But I might've not passed the original trade that was there, just because I've had a little flak from the last trade that was lopsided (though worked in my favor that time, even though I gave up quite a bit).
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 I was just happy to A)Get a 1B that would be able to put up just about the same numbers as Nevin, B) Get a 3B eligible player in the event that maybe Nevin isn't out long, since Im relying on Newhan a ton C) Get rid of Eric Milton and his 1.50+ WHIP and 4.48 ERA. His now 11 wins are nice but he keeps giving up a ton of runs, only to be bailed out by the Phillies' Offense and eventually that will end. I thought he was a good pickup before the season but I just can't keep taking the high WHIP/ERA for the wins. I had intentions of dealing him after last week's 7 runs allowed effort and I was just looking for a reason to make a trade.
razazteca Posted July 5, 2004 Report Posted July 5, 2004 Interesting 3 team trade. White Sux I sent a trade offer in the H2H league.
Lightning Flik Posted July 5, 2004 Author Report Posted July 5, 2004 Actually, that's just two seperate trades that nicely co-existed at the same time. A true 3 team trade has yet to happen.
razazteca Posted July 9, 2004 Report Posted July 9, 2004 I sent out a few trade offers in the NL only league and would be interested SP or OF or any kind of power hitter. As for the H2H league well looks like I shall win this week, unless somebody wakes up my opponet. I decided to dump Day and bring back Wakefield for my pitching needs and Rondel White's days as the DH for my team are numbered again. The day Casey leaves the DL is the day White goes to the waivers, again. Batista and Winn were great pick ups off the free agency market and will stay with the team for the rest of the season.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Im glad I got rid of Eric Milton. 6 ER 9H in 6.2 IP Too bad I forgot to dump him off in the mixed league.
Lightning Flik Posted July 10, 2004 Author Report Posted July 10, 2004 Of course, I would bitch about Milton, but instead, I'll just bitch about my whole pitching staff. WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THESE BASTARDS?! Only Looper, Worrell, and Marquis got under 3.00 ERA, and the rest of these stupid idiots post ERAs above 7.00. And I thought I had a stellar pitching staff when I started this year...
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Its because you put your stock in recent results and ERAs, without closely regarding past history and peripherals. Its important not to base decisions on a handful of games.
Lightning Flik Posted July 10, 2004 Author Report Posted July 10, 2004 Oh, I know. Just why did they have to crap out when I was facing you!? That's what pisses me off the most.
razazteca Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Well at least your Closers are not blowing saves and losing games for you.
Lightning Flik Posted July 10, 2004 Author Report Posted July 10, 2004 ...but it doesn't help me when my pitching staff can't do anything worth a freaking damn! I mean, my whole starting staff (minus Marquis) posted an era of 7+! WTF?! I'd expect better than that from Loazaia, Halladay, and Rogers.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Meanwhile, I have three starters (Clemens, Johnson, Sheets) who can easily fill out an NL Cy Young ballot.
razazteca Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 my whole starting staff (minus Marquis) posted an era of 7+! WTF?! Maybe its time to go to a 4 man rotation. Three of my pitchers (Ortiz, Trashael, Lima) had an collective ERA below 1.00. Now my bullpen is starting to give me headaches, last week I lost a few stats because Cordero blown a Save on Sunday giving up 3 Runs and this week Dotel has done the same. Hell I'm starting to think that Dotel is no better than Chacon! Even Smoltz is not as dependable as he used to be as he gave up a HR to the Phillys this week. The weirdest thing this season is that Jose Mesa of all people is having a near perfect season.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted July 10, 2004 Report Posted July 10, 2004 Even Smoltz is not as dependable as he used to be as he gave up a HR to the Phillys this week. I watched that home run. The pitch was several inches below the strike zone, and Chase Utley golfed it out of the park. It wasn't due to any great failure on Smoltz's part.
MarvinisaLunatic Posted July 11, 2004 Report Posted July 11, 2004 Im ticked off that I didn't start Daniel Cabrera although I doubt it would have made much difference. And I have a pretty decent week pitching wise (although Herges/Gagne both stunk) and Im still going to lose most of the pitching categories because White Sux uses 2 Starters and 3 Relievers and only used 20 IP total for the whole week, mostly from his relievers. Now we know how WS is in first place by 27 games..
